Say Cheese!

As many of you know, today is Ash Wednesday and as the tradition goes, this day marks the day in which you give something up as a sign of penance.  Seeing as this is not a religious blog, I really only bring this day up because I am choosing to give up something pretty important in my book.  And they say that the best way to be held accountable is to share your goal with others, so here I go..I'm giving up cheese!

Some of you may not think this is a big deal, but let me tell you something...I LOVE CHEESE!!!  I love all different kinds and I love it in all kinds of food.  Just check out my posts here, it is very rare that I will ever cook something without cheese in it.  Crazy?  Obsessed?  Maybe.  But it's the very reason why giving it up will be that much harder--and therefore rewarding at the end.  Here are some of the cheeses I'll miss most:

Sadly, I don't think Easter will come fast enough this year!  Did you give up anything for lent?

  2. CHEESE?! omg I'd die, I think I like cheese just as much as you do. Seeing that baked brie is making me crave it! Good luck, I'm sure you can do it, and it will taste all that much better once you can have it again!

  7. Thanks for all the well-wishes ladies. Can I just tell you that today, I had a luncheon and guess what was served? Caesar Salad with PARMESAN and CHEESE cannelloni!! So cruel!!!

But have no fear...I did not cave! But if I had to deal with that everyday, I would be a gonner!

  9. Oh goodness! I'd die, too. But this is great! The point is to give up something important. I'm giving up "worry" and "being anxious" and I'm replacing it with prayer. Each and every time...at least that's my goal (:

Every time I eat cheese I will think of you. And pray. hehe

  18. Wow Natasha - Cheese is a good one! That would be a really hard one for me too. Once, in grade school, I gave up potatoes for Lent because I loved them so much!

  20. You are a brave soul giving up cheese! I could never do it - or give up wine either! (I suppose I could, but the 40 days would be never-ending). I gave up ice cream, and started working out. But I still need a glass of red wine every now and then. :)
