Friday Finds

Happy Friday!!

Tomorrow is Wyatt's birthday party so I am in full planning and decorating mode.  What is supposed to be a low-key party is already becoming a full-blown party!  #icanthelpit

Anyway...here are some fun finds I've discovered lately and wanted to share!  Check back in Monday for the party recap!

This adorable coat--love the pattern and color.  Such a fun alternative to the basic pea coat.

Diptique is the best when it comes to candles and I am loving this Rosaviola version for Valentine's Day!

New favorite sleepsack...the Merino!  Super roomy for older babies {they even make them for children Ethan's age!}, cute grey stripes, and the best part?  You can strap your baby into a stroller or carseat with it on...genius!  You can also find them on Amazon for a little cheaper.

I tried a cleanse last week--three days of six juices and actually enjoyed it.  I never felt hungry and enjoyed all the flavors.  It also helped me to lose 3-4 pounds and reshape how I view food and portions right now.  It was a great reboot.  You can check out my Dr. Oz 3 day cleanse here.

I've started going back to spin classes 3 days a week and being more conscious of what I eat.  I recently bought these leggings and I cannot get over how comfortable they are!  They are very soft and buttery...plus the stirrups are a nice touch!  The brand is Beyond Yoga--btw!  It's the same brand that just collaborated with Kate Spade!

Speaking of being healthy, I just bought this cookbook--The Food Lover's Cleanse-- and can't wait to dig in!

Have you seen Pottery Barn's new collaboration with Emily & Merrit?  So cute and way modern, especially for Pottery Barn!  I especially love this, this and this!

I've got these wedges on my spring wish list!

Also excited for spring so I can wear this new dress {currently 40% off!}.  It looks even cute on Natalie!  :)

Last, I just snagged a mud cloth from this cute Etsy shop, The Stella Blue Gallery, for Wyatt's nursery.  Now I think his room is finally complete!

Happy Friday!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Wyatt's First Birthday Ideas

Wyatt's birthday party is this Saturday!  We were not sure if we were going to do much since his birthday falls so close after the holidays, but since my birthday is the day after Christmas, I knew we had to make the effort to celebrate!  Plus, you only turn one once, right?!

And since he's just a baby, it's one of the few times I'll get a say on his birthday theme.  I really love this rainbow theme--though, we'll likely be more subdued with blues.  We actually ordered this birthday invitation from Minted in blue, but I love the rainbow version above!  We also ordered some birthday decor from Minted too...so cute!

I love all the cute wooden toys out there right now.  And these are all rainbowed colored too!

And I love this rainbow garland too...the colors are a bit more subdued for a boy, which I love.

You can find the rest of these ideas on my Pinterest board!

Little Valentine

Valentines: Truck + Ballerina + Deer + Flowers + Popsicle + Soup

I can hardly believe Valentine's Day is right around the corner!  And I just love that I have two {well three if you count the hubby!} boys to love on this holiday.  But I gotta be honest...I am just DYING over some of girl outfits above.  I mean, that dress??  Are you kidding me?  And Kate Spade has the most darling little girl things.  Hubba.

This year, Ethan is in a new preschool so I thought it would be fun to hand out Valentine cards for his classmates.  Minted has the cutest ones out there, of course.  They have a huge selection so you must check it out!

Also, I am all about wooden toys for Wyatt and he got that cute little firetruck above.  The little people pop out when you push down on them and he of course puts them right in his mouth.  That little stacker is definitely next!

Are you doing anything fun for your babes this Valentine's Day?

Playing the the Snow with Snoots!

Tahoe has gotten SO much snow lately...it's great!  But it's really the first time we've had to deal with gear for Ethan since the last three years have been relatively dry.

If you're like me and you live in a snowy climate with kiddos...or in this case a toddler...you know how difficult it can be to find quality snow gear.  We have traditional snow boots, but they are super clunky and hard to run around with, which is obviously no bueno for toddlers on the go!

Which is why I got excited to test out Stride Rite's new "snoot" which is essentially a boot top with a sneaker bottom.  Genius right?!

Stride Rite is known for their comfortable shoes which allows Ethan to run around with ease, and of course, the beauty of these babies is that his feet stay warm and dry too!

We were boring and went with black, but they also come in three other colors AND they have Star Wars and Frozen too!

Definitely check them out!

Recent Buys + Finds at Target

Target is just killing it lately, which is actually pretty standard for them these days.  I recently bought and checked out some of these items {they're sitting in my card now} and wanted to share them with you!

Raw Sugar Bath Wash + Raw Sugar Hand Soap: I've heard amazing things about this new line and can't wait to check out.  It's all natural and cold-pressed to optimize the "good stuff" not to mention eco-friendly, cruelty free, paraben-free and sulfate-free.  Plus, the scents look amazing.

Method Hand Soap by Rebecca Atwood in Sea Spray: I have this hand soap and LOVE the smell...so refreshing!

Eva NYC Curling Wand: I swear by curling wands and just saw this recent collaboration with Eva NYC.  How cute it this pattern too?

I Love You Banner + Mini Heart Bowl: Valentine's Day is around the corner and I am loving all of their decor and cute kitchen stuff.  Isn't this mini bowl adorable?  I could see using it for my rings and earrings.  They come in a ton of colors too.

Coffee Mug: I just scooped these up and love the size and weight.  And for $1.99, why not?

Adult Coloring Book: If you've been following me on Instagram, then you know how much I love these books!

Saddle Stool: I love the chair version of these and think the saddle stool is equally as amazing!

Retro Kids Table + Chairs: I swear that Land of Nod has a similar set for twice the amount <--click to check it out!  I love the retro feel...and it comes in hot pink too!

Milk Crate Storage Bins: Love these!  We have them in Ethan's room to store his books.

Linear Weave Bench: This is such a fun new line--the bench is great and I also love the bench too.

Mongolian Fur Throw Pillows: Just bought these for our couch and they are a fraction of the price that I paid for one from West Elm...score!

Have you scooped up anything at Target lately?

Hope you're having a great weekend!

Favorite Registry Items with Babies "R" Us! {+$100 Gift Card Giveaway!}

Preparing for baby is one of the most special times in an expectant mother's life--but it's also one of the most overwhelming times too!  I remember when I was pregnant with Ethan and the very thought of registering for his arrival was both fun and terrifying at the same time!  What brand should I buy?  Do I need a bassinet?  Did I really need a wipe warmer and snot sucker?  What if my baby hates the pacifier?  Should I buy ten different kinds to make sure?!  Friends and blogs are a great resource, but even their opinions can differ from item to item.

Well there is good news for expecting mamas {I wish they had this when I was pregnant!}...Babies“R”Us Standalone stores now have a Personal Registry Partner at the registry desk and Category Experts for Gear, Nursery, Wardrobe, and Baby Care on the sales floor. These experts who make-up the Dream Registry Team, will provide great service and help guide parents through the registry process and product selection. After meeting the Personal Registry Partner and Category Experts, registrants will leave the store feeling confident in their product choices they made after registering.  It's like having a personal shopper for your registry...amazing, right?!

Don't have a store nearby?  They also have a Babies "R" Us app to help you navigate through this daunting process!  You can create and download your registry, share with family and friends, search for products and create a checklist to help prepare for baby's arrival.

Best of all, Babies "R" Us is hosting a registry party on January 16th from 11am to 12pm (at standalone stores only) where you can get personalized help from their dream registry team along with the chance to win prizes and meet other parents-to-be!  So fun!

Are you expecting a new baby?  What items are you planning to put on your Babies "R" Us registry?  Tell me in the comments below for a chance to win a $100 Babies "R" Us gift card!

Happy First Birthday Wyatt!

Dear Wyatt,

It's your first birthday and I just can't believe we have already known you for a whole year!  I can't remember what life was like before you arrived...you have fit right in from the start.  You are the best mix of a little brother...you hold your own, know just when to squack to elicit the right reaction from us, and you can keep up with your three and a half year old brother just fine.  Ethan loves you to pieces, but can also be a brat!  He's either smothering you with hugs and kisses or...literally smothering you in a wrestle move.  Life is definitely more exciting since you arrived.

You love to smile and wave and hate to be put down when you're not ready.  You sleep pretty soundly through the night--even when your older brother is having a threenager meltdown!  You adore the cat and could follow her around all day long.  You are cruising like a champ and I foresee your first step to be in the near future.  You light up when we come to wake you up in the morning or when we get you in the evening from your nanny's or grandma's.  You have five teeth now, two on the bottom and three on top.  Santa literally brought you your two front teeth for Christmas!  :)

You love bath time and going on walks in the stroller.  You are starting to get more into food...which means we need to up your mealtime variety.  You are talking more and more...and hate to miss out on any fun.  You have a pretty big case of FOMO, which runs in the family.  You are also a crawling ninja and can crawl so fast to wherever you want to go that we will lose you in three seconds flat.

You are a tiny little peanut, with a pretty sizable head.  You already have thick, curly hair which is quite different from when Ethan was your age.  You love to point and high five but haven't mastered how to clap quite yet.  You absolutely love a game of peek-a-boo...you play it with me every night before bed with your blankie.

It's so true what they say about your heart expanding to love a second child as much as the first--but I can honestly say it's true.  Your little personality is starting to shape and I just love the little human being that you are.

We love you so much and can't wait for more fun adventures ahead!

Love, Mommy
{Daddy and Ethan too!}

Lately

Life has been absolutely nuts lately--I hate that I've neglected this little space of mine but hope to get back to a semi-regular routine soon!  Wyatt is turning ONE in two days and I have done nothing to plan for him.  We're thinking we'll do a party at the end of the month so we can recover from all of the holiday festivities.  Here's more of what we've been up to lately...

Back in December, both of my brothers and Ryan's siblings were in town along with rest of Ryan's family so we had a big party to celebrate.  It was really fun to see many of the guys that I love in my life all in one room.

And my birthday celebration continued with this delicious coconut cake!  You can find the recipe here.

Ethan loves any chance to help blow out the candles!  :)

On New Year's Eve I made these champagne cupcakes and we had a fun dinner and early celebration over at a friend's house.

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous lately...exactly what you would hope for during a wintery season.

Unfortunately, Ethan and Wyatt both got pretty sick after all the holiday madness.  Lots of snuggles were in order.

Had to show off another stunning sunrise!

Ethan started up swimming lessons again and is loving it!

Wyatt was standing by on the deck...

Wyatt celebrated his birthday a couple days early since his grandparents will be out of town on his actual birthday.  He loved the cupcakes!

And last night, I finally got into my adult coloring books...they are SO fun but since I am pretty OCD, I am not sure how relaxing they really are...ha!

I bought Animal Kingdom and Tropical World and bought these coloring pencils.  Have you gotten into coloring?  Let me know if you recommend colored pencils or pens...I'm on the hunt for more!

New Year // Workout Gear

With the new year, resolutions are on everyone's mind.  My resolutions are to live more in the present {less time on my phone!}, eat cleaner {less sugar, gluten, and dairy} and commit to working out at least three times per week {less excuses!}  Pretty standard, right?

And to help aid my enthusiasm for my workouts, new workout gear always seems to fit the bill.  For those of you who live in colder climates, I was just gifted these ice cleats, which allows me to get outdoors for walks, even when it's icy out!

I bought a spin bike a couple years ago, after Ethan was born, which is great for when the kids are napping.  I've also been checking out Skinny Mom's workouts on Instagram.

What are your new year's resolutions?  Anyone else have easy workouts that work for a busy mom on the go?
