Palm Springs Bound

Daytime Look: Jacket + Sunglasses + Top + Necklace + Bag + Jeans + Booties
Dinner Out Look: Earrings + Dress + Ring + Heels
Workout Look: Sweatshirt + Leggings + Shoes

I am SO excited to be heading out for some warmer weather this weekend! I'm meeting up with my best friends from high school for a girls weekend in Palm Springs!

Well, technically 60 degrees is not overly warm for the desert, but I will take it! Especially compared to the frozen tundra I've been living in!

We plan to do eat out {Birba, Great Shakes + King's Highway are on the list}, hang out, and walk around to take in the sights! I hope that these outfits cover everything we have in store!

Have you been to Palm Springs before? What are your favorite things to do/places to eat?

Be sure to follow me on Instagram + Snapchat {schuelove} to see what we're up to this weekend!

Snow Dayzzz

That's right, we've been hit with a massive snow storm and it just keeps coming! I'm anxious to get to boys out to play in all the fresh snow, but for right now, it's been a lot of cozy days inside, while daddy is snow blowing, shoveling and snow blowing some more outside.

Call this the Tahoe Snowmageddon of 2017...

On Friday, the snow had subsided from the first big storm...but you can see how much we got! It's practically over my head!

And definitely over this guy's head!

Our roof has a massive blanket of snow on it...and you can barely see the house from the street anymore!

There's Ryan right at dusk, trying to shovel the snow off...

And here is the back of our house...where the snow is all the way up to the roofline of our garage.

It's a good thing our dog doesn't like to run away because our fence serves no purpose anymore. Oh, and that little structure right behind him is the roller coaster...oops!

And thanks for all the nice thoughts on Wyatt...he had some trouble breathing earlier this week and had a nasty cough...so bad that he would hit his gag reflex and vomit! It was terrible! But the nebulizer came to the rescue and we now have one at home! THAT...and poor Wyatt took a big spill on Sunday and has a big ole goose egg on his forehead now. Not his best week!

How's the weather in your neck of the woods?

Recent Purchases

Hello! It's been awhile since I've checked in on what I'm loving lately + recent buys, so I wanted to share them with you today.  Obviously after-holiday sales bring a lot of great deals so I may have taken advantage of that! ;)

I just bought this SUPER cozy scarf in tan {also love the green color} and can't wait to wear it. It's oversized and so soft--perfect for all the snow we've been getting lately!

I've always used a small barrel (19 mm to be exact) for my curling wand, but wanted to try looser curls and I had heard a lot of great things about Sultra, so I bought the 1.5 inch wand and really love it so far!

As a late birthday gift to myself, I finally splurged on this suede moto jacket that I see EVERYWHERE on the internet lately. I haven't received it yet, but it gets such amazing reviews and I think it will go well for tons of different occasions.

As a New Year's gift to myself {are you sensing a theme here!?}, I got the Inspiralizer and have used it a couple times already! I love it--it's such a great alternative to carbs. You can usually see our latest creations on my IG stories or Snapchat {schuelove}.

We have a local store in town {Live Love Yoga} that sells high-end yoga wear and I happily scooped up these moto-inspired leggings. They're a nice thick material and super cute too! I also got this puffer vest, which is almost sold out online...additional sizes here!

Have you taken advantage of any of the after-holiday/new year sales?

Happy Friday...have a great weekend!

Favorite Drugstore Beauty Products

We don't have a department store conveniently located nearby, so overtime, I've learned to seek out alternative drugstore beauty products. Surprisingly, there are a lot of great options out there--some of which could easily pass for the much more expensive product!  Here are some of my favorite buys...

Wet 'N Wild MegaGlo Illuminating Palette: I use this for my bronzer/blush right now. It gives off the most perfect iridescent glow, which is especially ideal for the winter months.

Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets: I've sung its praises before, but really cannot say how much I love these little sheets. They are truly miracle workers for people {like me} with oily skin.

Sonia Kashuk Cosmetic Brushes: I love Target's Sonia Kashuk's brand and these cosmetic brushes are no exception!

Vaseline Rosy Lips: The perfect way to keep your lips moisturized and with a tint of color!

Maybelline Baby Skin: My favorite primer, and I've tried a dozen of them!

Maybelline Colossal Volume Mascara: My favorite mascara and I swear I've tried them all!

Maybelline Master Probing Stick: Great for conturing...I've used both shades and love them equally.

Maybelline Age Rewind: Amazing for under the eyes, around the nose, and at the top of my forehead. Mama needs all the age rewinding she can get! ;)

Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream: This was actually the first BB cream I tried and really liked it from the start. I've thought about trying the "name-brand" version to compare. Does anyone have one they love?

I swear this is not a Maybelline sponsored post...I quickly realized, while putting this post together, that I use a lot of their products! Oops! Maybe I should branch out!

What are your favorite drugstore beauty products?

Wyatt's Turns TWO + Birthday Party

I still can't believe I have a two year old again in my house...ho boy, we are in for it! But celebrating a birthday is always a good idea and we weren't about to skip out!

The morning of Wyatt's actual birthday, we surprised him with balloons in bed...

and a cupcake before bedtime! He loved both!

His birthday was this past Saturday, and thanks {or no thanks} to the recent storms we've been having, a good majority of his party decor and gifts did not ship to us in time, which sent me into a complete tailspin! I really feel like I pulled this party out of my ass, but glad we had this inspiration from Minted, by way of birthday invitation, to help me stay on track.

I literally ordered his month-by-month photos at our local CVS that morning. The ones I had ordered online didn't make it, but I was so happy that we had this solution. The banner is from the $1 section at Target.

Thankfully, his cake topper bunting from ReadyGo, did make it and totally completed our {store-bought} cake!

The darling backdrop I ordered didn't make it either, so thanks to K-Mart's 70% off Christmas clearance, I made this tinsel work instead!

And really, what can't a couple balloons and Star Wars not cure?

I know this party was more about me than Wyatt...he was just so thrilled to have all of his little friends there and there was plenty of good food and company to make it a successful event!

I can't believe how quickly this last year has flown by...and I REALLY can't believe we have two, full-fledged toddlers in the house. Wyatt starts pre-school on Tuesday...halp!

Wyatt's TWO Year Old Birthday Details

Wyatt turns TWO tomorrow and we're having a little party for him this weekend. Winter babies are HARD to plan for, especially when it's AFTER the holidays and there is TONS of snow! I am sure he will grow to love having a winter party, where he can ski or sled with friends, but for now, we're homebound for the party.

When I saw these adorable invitations on Minted, I knew we could put something festive together! I love Minted because they have so many cute options and in this case, we ordered the matching Thank You cards too!

To keep the theme going, we were fortunate enough to receive the most darling cake topper bunting from Ready Go Wedding Co. We also received these super cute mini party hats and party favor envelopes from EventEphemera. I can't wait to create the party around these special elements and want to give a huge shoutout to the owners for helping me shape the party. Etsy is the best!

Last, I got some fairy lights from Target and a simple banner to tie it all together. I printed some Instagram photos from Wyatt's last year and will hang them with mini clothespin along the mantel. There will be some yummy food and drinks and the kids will run amok around the house...oh joy!

Can't wait to share more after the party this weekend!

Wyatt Turns 2! A Gift Guide

Wyatt turns TWO this Thursday and I can hardly believe it. Even though his birthday is a mere 18 days after Christmas, it doesn't mean we aren't going to celebrate! If anyone knows about birthdays and Christmas--it's me! My birthday is the day after Christmas and I remember how important it was to have a separate celebration.

Above are some ideas I have for Wyatt's birthday. Being a winter baby, he could definitely use some new snow gear. He's really into colors and puppies right now, so some new books and stuffed animals are definitely in order. Last, our little play kitchen has a blown-out door and it has me dreaming of a new play kitchen--this one is SO pretty and yet masculine, which is perfect for our little chefs.

I'll be sharing some birthday party inspiration later this week! Happy Monday!

New Obsession

While we were in San Francisco earlier last month, I had the pleasure of visiting Madewell.'s storefront. I've always loved their aesthetic, as far as their online inventory goes, but their retail experience is a real treat! Everything is a bit more refined and luxurious in person, and yet, they carry staples that are versatile and timeless, like the transport tote and their high-rise skinny jean.

Here are some other recent favorites worth checking out!

I've also had my eye on this sweater despite the iffy reviews.

I love their popover shirts for work and play...I also have this one and this one--now on sale!

Their leathered goods are top notch!

Madewell has the best accessories...I just got this set of earrings too, which are now on sale!

Last but not least...why am I so strangely attracted to mules right now? They are definitely not the most flattering shoe out there but I have a small obsession with them!!

Do you shop at Madewell?

Our Christmas + New Years 2016

It's been a whirlwind of a holiday week...which kicked off with fresh snow! Just in time for Christmas! 🙌

We tried to enjoy the downtime before the whirlwind of the holidays hit us...Wilson enjoyed some downtime too!

Our Christmas Eve Chioppino tradition continued.

And we put out milk and cookies for Santa + a handwritten note from Ethan!

Santa came!

Ethan woke up earlier than Wyatt, so he waited patiently to open his gifts!

Ethan's favorite gift was his Star Wars watch and Wyatt loved his rocking piggy!

Later that morning, we went to Grandma and Papa's for round two...this is the view from their house!

My sister-in-law got these "drinking buddies" wine charms and they were definitely a hit with our mimosas!

Our crew...that is slowly starting to meld down...!

Gorgeous Christmas sunset!

The next day was my birthday, so we went out to Edgewood for lunch!

Wyatt with his papa!

Later that week, some friends and I treater ourselves to massages and dinner to keep the birthday celebration going!

I wore my new blouse and leather jacket for the occasion!

New Years was a low key get together with some friends!  I wore this dress and love it!

The next morning, the kiddos got together for waffles and the moms drank some champagne to bring in the new year!

2016 was been a pretty wonderful {and colorful!} year for us...we're excited to see what 2017 has in store!
