7 Year Old Gift Guide

Ethan turns SEVEN in one week! And he just had his last day of 1st grade yesterday...it's crazy how quickly time is flying! I can hardly believe it!

Ethan is getting more and more into sports and outdoor activities...anything he can do outside he loves, whether it's the beach, riding bikes with the neighborhood kids or playing on the field!

We're looking forward to this next year with our big boy!

A Pirate Party

With Peter Pan recently being re-released, Ethan has taken a huge liking to pirates, so it seemed like the perfect theme for his 6th birthday party! That...and the fact that we have a dedicated pirate store here in Tahoe...made it a fun choice! I'm especially lucky that Ethan still lets me pull the decor together...everything Meri Meri does just speaks to me! I love their stuff!

Here are some snaps for Ethan's birthday party!

Phoned it in BIG time on the cake! But made up for it with the ice cream truck...

...and the bounce house!

Can't believe we have a SIX year old in the house!

Ethan's 5 Year Birthday Weekend

Today, Ethan turns FIVE! It's so hard to believe that five years flown by. Ethan just blossoms by the day and we're so excited for him to start kindergarten this fall. Cue the tears!

We celebrated his birthday over the weekend with all of his friends {and ours!}. We settled on an outer space theme since Ethan recently learned bout all of the planets. Some how, that also morphed into a Spider Man theme since that was the only thing available for a bounce house and cake. It all worked out and of course, Ethan loved the hybrid theme! ;)

By Sunday, we were totally spent and just wanted to hang at the beach! We grabbed pizza at Aleworx after to close out the weekend!

Also, super fun, but on Friday, our local library had a live animal show, complete with an alligator that all the kids got to pet. It was really neat!

I would say, all in all, it was a great birthday weekend!

Outer Space 5th Birthday Party

Star Balloon + Solar System Whirls + Space Ship Piñata
Mission to Mars Birthday Invitation
Space Cookies + Banner + Party Dinnerware

Ethan's FIFTH birthday is coming up {fun fact, today, June 20th, was his due date} and this year, he requested an outer space party...complete with bounce house {like last year!}. I think we'll round out the party with some bomb pops and this splash pad {as opposed to a launch pad} since it's summer and super hot right now!

Check back later this week for birthday gift ideas!

Wyatt's Turns TWO + Birthday Party

I still can't believe I have a two year old again in my house...ho boy, we are in for it! But celebrating a birthday is always a good idea and we weren't about to skip out!

The morning of Wyatt's actual birthday, we surprised him with balloons in bed...

and a cupcake before bedtime! He loved both!

His birthday was this past Saturday, and thanks {or no thanks} to the recent storms we've been having, a good majority of his party decor and gifts did not ship to us in time, which sent me into a complete tailspin! I really feel like I pulled this party out of my ass, but glad we had this inspiration from Minted, by way of birthday invitation, to help me stay on track.

I literally ordered his month-by-month photos at our local CVS that morning. The ones I had ordered online didn't make it, but I was so happy that we had this solution. The banner is from the $1 section at Target.

Thankfully, his cake topper bunting from ReadyGo, did make it and totally completed our {store-bought} cake!

The darling backdrop I ordered didn't make it either, so thanks to K-Mart's 70% off Christmas clearance, I made this tinsel work instead!

And really, what can't a couple balloons and Star Wars not cure?

I know this party was more about me than Wyatt...he was just so thrilled to have all of his little friends there and there was plenty of good food and company to make it a successful event!

I can't believe how quickly this last year has flown by...and I REALLY can't believe we have two, full-fledged toddlers in the house. Wyatt starts pre-school on Tuesday...halp!

Wyatt's TWO Year Old Birthday Details

Wyatt turns TWO tomorrow and we're having a little party for him this weekend. Winter babies are HARD to plan for, especially when it's AFTER the holidays and there is TONS of snow! I am sure he will grow to love having a winter party, where he can ski or sled with friends, but for now, we're homebound for the party.

When I saw these adorable invitations on Minted, I knew we could put something festive together! I love Minted because they have so many cute options and in this case, we ordered the matching Thank You cards too!

To keep the theme going, we were fortunate enough to receive the most darling cake topper bunting from Ready Go Wedding Co. We also received these super cute mini party hats and party favor envelopes from EventEphemera. I can't wait to create the party around these special elements and want to give a huge shoutout to the owners for helping me shape the party. Etsy is the best!

Last, I got some fairy lights from Target and a simple banner to tie it all together. I printed some Instagram photos from Wyatt's last year and will hang them with mini clothespin along the mantel. There will be some yummy food and drinks and the kids will run amok around the house...oh joy!

Can't wait to share more after the party this weekend!
