Best of Target // Fall Picks for the Home

Fur, flannel and plaid...does it get any more cozy for fall?!  I think not!  Target is just killing it right now with their latest home collection and I am drooling over all of these pieces.  Remember how I was dying to get my hands on this stool?  Well I love this one just as much with the hairpin legs.  And cozy fall flannel sheets?  Yes please!

I've also heard that Target has redesigned their stores to look more like a boutique...so fun!  I need to get down to Target soon!

Links to Love on a Friday!

I am so happy the weekend is here and that we're kicking off fall.  This time of year brings a lot of fun festivals and crisp weather.  Here are some fun links to check out:

I just love Nancy Meyers {director of my all-time favorite movies, Father of the Bride and It's Complicated} and now, being a woman boss myself, I can totally relate to this interview!  I mean, I want to be her when I really grow up, you know?

Speaking of work, we are building a new space for our office from top to bottom in a warehouse and it has me dreaming up all of these pins on my board.

A laugh out loud week of dislikes!

Love this top for fall!  This too!

Have you seen the new line of fall at Target?  It deserves a post on its own, but I am totally digging this, this, this and this.

Don't forget, you can find me on Snapchat at: schuelove

Have a great weekend!

Our Weekend {a little late!}

We had a jam packed weekend that kicked off with a birthday party!  Ethan had a hard time coming to terms with the fact that it was not his birthday party!  ;)

On Saturday, the city of South Lake Tahoe celebrated it's 50th anniversary with a fun parade!

We also now have a community bike park, which I am sure we will get a lot of use out of in the near future!

Saturday night, we decided to escape for a date night at the last minute!  It's always great getting one-on-one time with this guy!

And speaking of bikes, Ethan picked up on his strider bike out of nowhere and is coasting around like crazy!  He has this version, for reference.

And while we have not bitten the bullet on a double stroller {I really want this version!}, we seem to be getting along just fine!  ;)

On Sunday, we attended the last outdoor concert of the season.

We had so much fun hanging out at the park, watching the kids run around!

And in latest news, this is how I attempt to sneak a workout in!  Emily just posted these videos, which is awesome for a quick workout {if you can get past the crazy boys!}.

I've been posting more of our crazy adventures on Snapchat...find me at schuelove!

I hope you have a great rest of the week!

Loving Lately

It's been awhile since I've compiled a list of the things that I'm lovely lately...and with a crisp in the air, it seems like a good time to cozy up and talk shop {preferably with a glass of wine in hand!}.  So here it goes:

I've always said that all jeans should be like maternity jeans {only without the stigma of being maternity jeans!} and these Gap moto jeans are just that!  They have an elastic band, but are NOT maternity jeans, which is pretty awesome in my book.  Also, I am loving this poncho!

I already have Halloween on the brain and I am SO excited to dress the boys in matching pajamas!  I scored this pair for both of them, and they're only $8 each!  Score!

I listened to Young House Love's podcast interview the other night and it really resonated with me.  I am SO not a risk taker, but I really admire them for following their hearts and doing what is ultimately right for their young family.  Also, I've pre-ordered their new book...can't wait to check it out!

Back to fashion, I'm have a major crush on these flats...is that weird?  They looks so easy for the fall...

Remember how I still have yet to reveal Wyatt's nursery to you?  Well, it's still a work in progress.  Oops!  I just bought the letter W for his wall...I love the brass detail.  I've also got my eye on this or this for his light fixture.  I seriously need to finish up before I find myself planning his big boy room...ah!

Check out this neighborhood bear we spotted the other day...I guess he's getting ready for winter!

Last...don't forget the HALO sleepsack giveaway!  Today is the last day to enter!

Happy 8 Months Wyatt!

Month 8 brings more and more fun from last month.  Wyatt is a rolling machine now...rolling to get wherever he wants to go.  He is also starting to go from sitting to his stomach {instead of falling to his back}, but isn't showing any real progress towards crawling just yet.  He is pretty much over his swing and takes his naps in his crib.  He babbles a ton and just lights up around Ethan.  Ethan can make him crack up laughing better than any of us.

Wyatt went on his first vacation to Michigan this past month and did really well on the plane.  He loved spending time on the beach and with his uncles, grandma and ggma.

Wyatt is becoming more intrigued by the animals--I think the cat will get him to crawl, much like she did with Ethan.  He grabs her tail and fur and she totally puts up with it.

While we don't have any teeth yet, Wyatt loves to eat and put down about 6 ounces of formula every four hours or so.  He's also sleeping through the night for the most part which is amazing.

Wyatt loves car rides and stroller rides, but mostly prefers to be held.

I feel like this next month will bring more mobility and chaos, so I am hanging on to these last sweet moments before teeth, crawling and more enter the scene!!

HALO SleepSack Review + Giveaway!

If you've been reading my blog for any amount of time, you will know that I love to inform and promote my readers about tried and true baby products (check out my baby gear guide HERE).  The HALO sleepsack is a favorite around here--particularly with our brisk mountain climate.  I have used the swaddle and sleepsack with both boys and have never looked back.  Wyatt sleeps warmly and soundly through the night, and really, as a parent, can you ask for anything more?

Happy baby, right?

Disclaimer: It is not advised to have your baby sleep with anything other than his or her sleepsack, so please don't use the above question as a guideline, other than, I mean...look how cute he is!  ;)

Here are some additional safety sleeping tips:

ALWAYS

  • Place baby to sleep on his or her back at nap time and at night time.
  • Use a crib that meets current safety standards with a firm mattress that fits snugly and is covered with only a tight-fitting crib sheet.
  • Remove all soft bedding and toys from your baby’s sleep area (this includes loose blankets, bumpers, pillows and positioners). The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests using a wearable blanket instead of loose blankets to keep your baby warm.
  • Offer a pacifier when putting baby to sleep. If breastfeeding, introduce pacifier after one month or after breastfeeding has been established.
  • Breastfeed, if possible, but when finished, put your baby back to sleep in his or her separate safe sleep area alongside your bed.
  • Room share, but don’t bed share. Bed sharing can put a child at risk of suffocation.
NEVER
  • Never put your baby to sleep on any soft surface (adult beds, sofas, chairs, water beds, quilts, sheep skins etc.)
  • Never dress your baby too warmly for sleep; keep room temperature 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Never allow anyone to smoke around your baby or take your baby into a room or car where someone has recently smoked.
HALO Innovations is dedicated to putting the health, safety and well-being of babies first. In fact, over 1,300 hospitals use HALO® SleepSack® wearable blankets through the HALO Safer Way to Sleep Initiative. The HALO family of products, including HALO SleepSacks and SleepSack Swaddles, SwaddeSure and the best-selling HALO BassinestTM Swivel Sleeper, help children from newborn to toddler age sleep better and safer.

The HALO sleepsack comes in tons of designs, available at Amazon or Babies R Us.

As the weather starts to cool down, I know our little guy will be nice and cozy in is sleep sack.  And the best part about this post?  You have a chance to win your own swaddle or sleepsack.  Enter below and the winner will be announced next Friday!

Our Trip to Lake Michigan

Lake Michigan holds such a special place in my heart.  I grew up visiting my grandparents there every summer, and to now have my sons experience Lake Michigan with me, is pretty awesome and surreal at the same time.  Ethan had a blast hanging with his uncles and cousins and it was really special for my grandmother and mom to meet Wyatt too.

Here is just a small glimpse of our trip...there are so many photos, it's hard to narrow it down, but this post is still really photo heavy, so there is your official warning!  ;)

First, isn't the view from my grandma's back deck stunning?!  She is about a 5 minute walk to Lake Michigan and I'm telling you, this view never gets old!

Our first full day was sunny and beautiful, so we had to take advantage of tons of beach time!

 Wyatt loved it too!

Ethan's favorite part was getting buried in the sand and building drop castles with his uncles.

Ethan also tried his hand at badminton!

Sunday was a bit cooler, but that didn't stop us from hitting up my favorite ice cream spot, Pekadill's!

Cousins!

My sis-in-law!

Family photo in front of my favorite lighthouse!

One benefit of stormy weather?  It makes for a STUNNING backdrop!

And Wyatt got lots of floor time inside.  He loved my grandma's vintage Playskool milk bottles.

Walking the path down to the beach.

Did I mention Ethan loved to be buried?!

We also hit up the Oceana County Fair where there were lots of farm animals, fun rides and fried food!

Ethan was not too sure about the goats!

But he was tall enough to go on the ferris wheel!

And some other fun rides too!  ;)

Of course, we had to get an elephant ear to round out the trip! ;)

The next day we took Ethan horseback riding at Rainbow Ranch and I was stunned that Ethan rode his own horse!

I mean, look at that bravery!

Overall, we had the best time and I was so happy to spend time with family and show Ethan {and Wyatt to some extent} what I love most about Lake Michigan!

Do you have a childhood vacation spot that is sentimental to you?
