Mama said there'd be days like this...

Ever have one of those days?  You know, the ones that moms can only really understand?

Days where you pick your son up from daycare and they inform you that he hasn't had a nap today.  Woof.

Days where you get home to find that the cat has barfed everywhere...and you decide to let your husband deal with it when he gets home from work.  But seriously, I was just happy that it wasn't pee {and thanks for all of your advice on the subject!}.

Days where your already exhausted son decides to tackle the new roller coaster on his own and ends up pushing off, while backwards.  The sheer look of terror and screams that followed were as though he was about to roll off a cliff.  But of course, he brushed himself off and just did it again...and again.  Did I mention we need a helmet?

Days where your newly polished toes already got chipped and every time you look down, you cringe.

Days where your son decides to poop in the tub.  SO awesome.

You know...days like that?  I had one last night.  And all I want to do is pour myself a big glass of wine, paint my toes and watch the Bachelor.  Speaking of the Bachelor, if you're a fan like me, you should really check out Sharleen's recaps.  So good!

Please tell me you've had days like that!

  1. Yup. Some days I swear it's all that by 12 and I'm ready to clock out!! Probably explains why they now view me as a regular at Starbucks and ask where I've been if I go a few days without stopping by.

  2. Those are the days that I just sigh and pour myself a nice big glass of wine...perhaps before the peanut goes to sleep ;) it always seems like when it rains, it pours!

  3. My son poops in the bath way more than most kids. Like at least ten times in his 19 month life. We are so over it! We had only had a super short nap on the run yesterday and it made the afternoon no fun! Moms definitely know days like that! Hopefully today is better!

  5. Oh girl, you know we've all had days like that! I think the worst is when you pick them up from the sitter and you get screams and bad moods all night long, but I guess we're all entitled to a sucky day! Hope you got those tootsies polished back up & YES love the Bachelor! xo

  8. I so know what you mean! Thankfully I haven't had one of those days in a while (knock on wood), but man those can be rough - something only a drink can cure! And YES to the Bachelorette! I'm obsessed with that show, and I loved Sharleen from last season. I read her blog, as well as listen to the podcast from Jason & Molly Mesnick :)

  9. How funny. That was yesterday for me. Literally, it just kept going on and on and on. And I mean I swear the 3:30-6:30 hours are so hard. I'm like...please please I just want to sit down with my wine!! (Which I did). ;)

  10. Oh yes, totally can relate. A few weeks ago, I dropped my phone and the screen shattered then I realized I washed a diaper…an hour after it was cleaned up. The list went on and on that day, thankful that there are tomorrows!

  17. Wine is the mama cure all for a long day (and add in the Bachelorette, perfection). We have been having these days A LOT lately courtesy of the terrible (and they are terrible) twos. So glad we have not experienced poop in the tub though lol (yet!).

  19. I feel like I've been having "one of those days" at least once a week lately. The terrible twos are no joke. Meltdown after meltdown. Today's meltdowns were because (1) I put on the wrong Daniel Tiger episode, (2) I didn't give him a "puddle" of syrup next to his pancakes for dipping, (3) I told him he couldn't have cookies for breakfast, (4) the dog wouldn't let him ride her like a horse, (5) he couldn't zip his own pajamas, and (6) the nanny had the nerve to look at him during breakfast. And that was all before 8:00 a.m. Ugh. I can't wait for tonight. :)
