Here comes Peter Cottentail!

Easter is just under a week away...and while I love the holiday, sadly I have not done much cooking or decorating around the house.  So, to get in the last minute spirit of Easter, I thought I'd share some fun inspiration.

For decorating:

How "sweet" is this arrangement?

This is a bit more mature, but still lovely.

This setting is great just for spring...love the tiny robin's blue eggs.

Love how fun and playful this is...doesn't it just epitomize all things Easter?

Just the cutest easter bunny napkins {directions here}

For Easter Brunch:

Cute Easter Brunch invites are a must!

Sparkling punch always livens up Easter Brunch and is a nice twist on the classic mimosa.  Recipe found {here}.

How divine does this asparagus and Gruyère tart look?  Just might have to try it for Easter!  Recipe found {here}.

These baked eggs in bread bowls would really make Easter Brunch special.  Recipe found {here}.

Why not just have a whole buffet for dessert alone?  Doesn't this look wonderful?

What are your plans for Easter this year?  Our plans are still up in the air, but you KNOW whatever we do, we'll be back to eating cheese.  YES!!!  :)

Modern Baby Nursery

A very dear friend of mine asked me to help her design a modern and chic nursery for her baby girl Ryan, who is due in July.  Of course, I was thrilled to be asked and happy to help her.

She recently painted the walls brown and has white trim and closet doors.  Her vision is white nursery furniture and she likes the idea of gray and purple accents with ruffles and a shabby chic feel.  She wanted a mature feeling that the baby could grow into.

Knowing Mama's already sophisticated taste, I wanted to compliment the rest of the house, by making Baby Ryan's special.  This is what I came up with:

I wanted to incorporate the shabby chic elements of the white furniture and delicate chandelier, but I had ton a of fun incorporating the modern elements, such as the fun lamp and graphic pillows...plus, you know you know I love a great furry pillow.  In order to tie in the brown, I brought in the zebra inspired rug which will evolve with Baby Ryan through all her years at home.  My favorite print in the room is this West Elm chair...absolutely loving this print and feel it's whimsy enough for baby but able to grow into something more mature down the line.

And just for a little extra touch, I would love to incorporate a cute print like this:

So what do you think?  Do you think Mama and Baby Ryan will approve?

I'm especially happy to show off this space during cornflake dreams blog crawl:

Be sure to check it out!

Scottsdale Love

As most of you know, I just got back from Scottsdale this past weekend.  We didn't do too much other than relax, relax...oh and relax!  Soaked in some sun, spent some quality time with family, and took in the beautiful scenery.  Here's a little montage from the weekend.

My mother-in-law has this beautiful and rustic cross wall in their home.  I love how eclectic it is...want to make one for myself on day!

There is a beautiful view in the backyard...tons of wildlife and a ravine which I bet looks amazing during a big storm.  That edge of blue on the bottom is their infinity edge pool!

And of course, the sunsets are amazing!

Hubby makes a MEAN margarita: 2 ounces {white} tequila, 2 ounces fresh squeezed lime juice, and 1 ounce agave nectar.  SO yummy!

Loving the ocotillo and agave plants.  Of course, the saguaros are plenty abundant too.

There is a serene courtyard, complete with fountain and white roses climbing the wall!  My idea of rest and relaxation right here.

Zinc Bistro is a great French restaurant that feels like you been transported to Paris the second you sit down.  The basiled chicken and brie sandwich is amazing!

Ahh!  I just love Scottsdale!

Where do you go to escape for a long weekend?  Any fun trips coming up?

Shopping Confessions...Spring Edition!

OK, I confess!  I've been doing some shopping lately and I have been too lazy busy to try my new outfits on for all of you too see.  Also, in a perfect world, the weather would be gorgeous and I would be able to wear all of these pretty things out.  But, since the forecast calls for more snow today {which is ridiculous by the way!}, you're going to have to settle for some clothing shots.

I got this dress a couple weeks ago from J. Crew!  It was already on sale which I was super excited about since I had recently seen it on one of my regular blog reads here.  I can't seem to find this exact version online, but here it is {full price} online.  I especially like the panels on this dress...here's a close up:

I plan to wear this on Easter...its very light and airy!

Also from J. Crew is this cute coral colored belt:

This belt is a great spring staple...goes with everything and adds a nice punch of color.  It's also on sale...score!

Speaking of pops of coral...

I recently got these Gap city flats on sale for $10 and even though I wouldn't normally buy this color in shoes, I thought the the price was right and they would be a cute addition for spring.  Also, loving this skirt from J. Crew and this super chic scarf from Nordstrom!  The scarf is a great transitional piece for this time of year...very light and airy, but still gives your neck some warmth.

Also from Gap is this super cute LBD:

This dress is very simple, yet can be accessorized 1,000 different ways and look great.  And just just under $70...it's a great buy too.

While I was in Scottsdale...we made an Anthro stop, which is ALWAYS dangerous!

This sweater, by Splendid, does not look like much on the hanger, but it is SO cute on...just the perfect amount of draping.  It will look great with skinnies or shorts this summer.

I am in LOVE with this Charcoal Terrace dress at Anthro...be sure to click on the link for better lighting.  It's the perfect wedding guest dress and I fully intend to get some good use out of it this summer.  The length is just perfect and the fit is very flattering.

You may recognize these earrings from a post I did earlier last month...I've been eying them for a while now and was glad to see Anthro still carried them.  They're a beautiful color and will add a nice pop of color this spring.  They also come in that super cute little bag you see in the background.  Nice touch Antrho!

Last, but not least...I got this cute bikini while I was in the desert from Target.  I'm a huge sucker for ruffles and loved the color in this suit!  I also got a nice sunburn from the desert too...ew!

So, what do you think of my recent shopping extravaganza?  Am I ready for spring?  I sure hope so...now if only spring would officially show up!  :)
