First Family Trip of Four // Scottsdale

This past weekend, we escaped to Scottsdale with our family for out annual trip...it was our first time traveling {by airplane, no less} as a family of four.  A tips and tricks post may follow...

But I will say that the Solly wrap was an absolute necessity.  I walked through the airport with Wyatt sound asleep.  I had no problem in security, had my hands free to help with luggage and I could even go to the bathroom with him strapped to me.  #winning

We loved lunching outside...we had a great lunch at Tonto Bar & Grill overlooking a golf course.  They were kid friendly too, which is always a bonus!

A majority of the time was spent right here...at the pool!

Party of four!

Pop pop spoiled Ethan with his first set of golf clubs...he loved practicing!

Wyatt enjoyed the heat and actually getting his legs out in the sun for the first time.

Auntie Lauren and Daisy {along with Ryan and Norm were there too!}

Ethan practicing his kick boarding skills.

Auntie love!

Of course a mean game of Cards Against Humanity was in order.  Great grandma was killing it!

Our sweet little Wy Guy!

On our last day, we went to the zoo...

And saw monkeys...

And tigers!

We had a blast!  But now we are exhausted...I think I need a vacation from my vacation!  ;)

Ethan is 20 Months!

What's New:
Ethan's vocabulary grows by the day.  He says "mama" so clearly now that it makes my heart sing.  I LOVE it.  He also says dada and is attempting to mimic other words and sounds.  Speaking of mimicking, Ethan mimics everything.  And I mean everything.  I rub my face with lotion...he must rub his face with lotion.  And wash his hands.  And hums.  And yells.  We are in trouble!  He can also shrug to say he doesn't know.  Cute.

Wears:
We just moved Ethan into 24 month jammies and size 4 diapers.

Eats:
Ethan's appetite seems to be picking up again.  He loves dipping things.  Like chicken into ketchup.  Or pizza into ranch.  Or cereal into yogurt.  It's lovely for cleanups...let me tell you!

Teeth:
Same as last month.

Talks:
Currently Ethan says: Mama, Dada, Hi {he loves saying HIIIIIIII whenever he sees someone new}, Bye, Nigh nigh, Uh oh, and more.  He can make animal noises for a cat, dog, cow, monkey, fish, bird, duck, sheep, and horse.  He also knows how to whisper now...it's so cute!

Loves:
Copying everything we do.  He especially loves washing his hands, turning the lights on and off, blowing kisses, and giving high fives.  He also is obsessed with our iPhones and can unlock them...and play with all of the apps.  Oy.

Hates:
Not getting his way.  Pretty simple.  And he lets us know it!

Goes:
We just got back from a long weekend in Scottsdale...Ethan LOVES going in the hot tub and checking out the bunnies.  Ahh, the life of a 20 month old!  ;)

A Little Escape

For those of you who follow me on Instagram {schuelove}, you probably noticed that we escaped this past weekend to Scottsdale.  While the weather was mostly rainy, it was great to relax and unwind with family and friends.

Clockwise from top right:
We dined at some great restaurants like Herb Box and Barrio Cafe.  Herb Box has an amazing indoor/outdoor bar and amazing food.  I recommend the pulled pork tacos!
Our sleepy guy
The guac at Barrio Cafe has pomegranate seeds and these margs are to.die.for.
My new Nine West leopard flats complete my easy travel attire.
Baby's first swim in the pool!
Digging my new floral denim and absorbed in this book What Remains, by Carole Radziwill {think Real Housewives of New York}...review to come soon!
Indulging in a glass of red and trying a new type of chocolate bar--dark chocolate with sea salt and almonds!  Definitely an instant favorite!
The view from the backyard...never gets old.

What did you do this weekend?

Shopping Confessions::Scottsdale Edition

Hi Beauties!

I am super relaxed and even a little tanned from our getaway to Scottsdale.  It was so nice to have four whole days of nothing but sun, rest, reading {I finished the second Hunger Games book!}, shopping, and great eating!  We got to go to a movie theater called iPic where the chairs recline, there are pillows & blankets, and recliner-side service!  You could order anything from booze to full meals...even candy in a martini glass!  It was awesome!

I thought I would share some of my shopping finds with you...you know I have to take advantage when I get a chance to shop!  ;)

This awesome top from lululemon is everything I have dreamed of and more!  It's SUPER long in real life...which is great for a preggo like me and reversible.  I am also loving the color...so pretty!

You know I am loving neon right now, so this Gap scarf totally spoke to me.  I love the polka dots and it's really wide, which makes it more like a pashmina!

I got these flats in chalk and they are super comfy...more comfy than the other city flats I have.  I think the elastic at the top helps.  And bonus...they're on sale!

Oh yes, and I finally got the Volcano candle...it smells SOO good!

And because you can't go shopping without thinking of the little guy, we scored some super cute outfits for Baby Schue.  This jumpsuit has little rhinos on it and a neon green detail.  :)

I saw an adorable blue dress at Anthro that would be perfect for my shower...but now I can't find it online.  Darn!  Hopefully it shows up soon!

Have you shopped recently?

Friday Fancies::Aztec Aesthetic

Happy Friday!

I'll keep this short and sweet, as we are currently in Scottsdale, soaking in the sun!  :)  Sadly, I am also currently without my suitcase {it will hopefully be delivered by now!} and it has me thinking of all the amazing items I wish I had in my wardrobe...particularly for this vacation.  What's not to love about this amazing aztec aesthetic?  Are you digging this trend?  I know I am!

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Scottsdale Love

As most of you know, I just got back from Scottsdale this past weekend.  We didn't do too much other than relax, relax...oh and relax!  Soaked in some sun, spent some quality time with family, and took in the beautiful scenery.  Here's a little montage from the weekend.

My mother-in-law has this beautiful and rustic cross wall in their home.  I love how eclectic it is...want to make one for myself on day!

There is a beautiful view in the backyard...tons of wildlife and a ravine which I bet looks amazing during a big storm.  That edge of blue on the bottom is their infinity edge pool!

And of course, the sunsets are amazing!

Hubby makes a MEAN margarita: 2 ounces {white} tequila, 2 ounces fresh squeezed lime juice, and 1 ounce agave nectar.  SO yummy!

Loving the ocotillo and agave plants.  Of course, the saguaros are plenty abundant too.

There is a serene courtyard, complete with fountain and white roses climbing the wall!  My idea of rest and relaxation right here.

Zinc Bistro is a great French restaurant that feels like you been transported to Paris the second you sit down.  The basiled chicken and brie sandwich is amazing!

Ahh!  I just love Scottsdale!

Where do you go to escape for a long weekend?  Any fun trips coming up?
