Friday Finds

Fall is in the air and the weather has been reflecting it lately! We are in for some majorly fun fall activities this weekend, including Oktoberfest, Fish Festival and Apple Hill for pumpkin picking and apple cider donuts! Yay!

Here are some recent finds worth mentioning:

My pullover is new and is perfect for this transitional weather.

Speaking of transitions, we are making the transition to a booster seat for Ethan. We just received this version courtesy of a new-to-me site, Wikibuy. This site does all the hard work for you by price shopping for the best deal. Super neat, right?

These boss boots are SO cute! Definitely on my wishlist!

This San Francisco Staycation is going to inspire my next vacation!

Loving this rustic Halloween inspiration!

What do you think of the furry mule trend? Those are super expensive, but THESE are a total knock-off and are super cheap!

Looking for the perfect shades of gray for our new house. Do you have a favorite?

Hope you have a wonderful fall weekend!

Loving Lately

Being on maternity leave, means I spend a lot of time online shopping browsing around the internet in the wee hours of the morning.  Here are some of the things I'm loving {and have likely ordered} right now...

These jeans, which are on sale and are perfect for my postpartum body right now.  No need to spend a ton of money on something that I hope only fits for a short while!

These pants for Ethan.  They look super comfy and will make for a great transition to spring.

I'm not sure if I'm board with this sneaker trend, but if I go there, I love these!

A nursing tank that also sucks you in?  Yes please!  Love this line by Heather from Real Housewives of New York!

And while I'm not online, you'll find me with a baby on my chest watching Scandal.  Just got into it and I'm seriously obsessed!

I hope to be back soon with Wyatt's birth story and a nursery // big boy room update!  Happy Monday!

The Best Way to Shop at Target

Cookie Jars // Bench {on sale!} // Frame // Socks // Mugs // Book

Like many {many!} of you, we're huge Target fans.  Every time we go, we stock up on baby necessities like baby diapers and wipes, clothes, home decor, house products, beauty finds and other seasonal items.  We easily spend several hundred dollars during each haul {luckily we only go about once a month as our closest Target is about an hour away}, which is why we'll take a deal when we can find one.

We already have the Target REDcard, which saves us 5% on each purchase, but I recently downloaded the Cartwheel app to see if there were any additional ways to save.  Instead of perusing the app beforehand, I shopped as I normally would and then whipped out the app during checkout.  I was able to easily search by either category or brand and add coupons to "my cartwheel" which then had one single barcode for the cashier to scan before I paid.  Easy peasy AND I saved over $30 which I will gladly take!

And the best part was that the offerings were all for items that I was already planning to buy, like Circo {25% off right now}, Champion {25% off right now}, Threshold {15-25% off select items}, Merona {10% off}, and more!  You can also search by collections like Valentine's Day items, Game Day Deals, Winter Cold Remdites, Pet Love, or Best Sellers.

While I've never been a huge coupon clipper, I really do love how easy the Cartwheel app is to use and how it collects all of my coupons in one place so it's easy to check out.  I suppose the next time, as I make my list, I should add my coupons beforehand {as a makeshift list} so that I ensure I'm really maximizing my savings.  Think smarter, not harder, right??

Have you downloaded the Cartwheel app?  Did you walk away with any savings?  What did you think? Leave a comment below to be entered to win a $1,000 Target GiftCard®!

Thoughts for Tuesday-Summer Edition

Here are some random thoughts as of late...mainly related to the summer season!

With the lack of good summer tv, the hubby and I finally took the plunge and started watching Breaking Bad.  I mean...I'm still getting into it, but I can definitely see why it's addicting!  I can't believe we have five whole seasons to watch before we're caught up!

Have you noticed Target's activewear section lately?  I almost died when I saw their version of the No Limits Tank for a THIRD of the price.  Sure, it's not quite as nice of material as the lululemon version, but I love the fact that I can buy three of them for the price of one!  They have a lot of similar options right now...how cool would a lululemon and Target collaboration be?!

For those of you who are vegan and/or gluten free...you should defnitely check out Coconut Bliss Salted Caramel & Chocolate ice cream.  It's soooo good!  Though, my favorite is still Talenti's Sea Salt Caramel.  #drool

What's summer without a couple easy-read trashy romance novels?  We're vacationing soon and I plan to flip through a few of these.  #sorrynotsorry  I think my English professor must be dying right about now.  ;)

Travel

We're taking our first "real" week long vacation since our honeymoon and I am SO excited!  We're starting off our vacation by visiting Chicago to see these two pups!  Cameron was Ryan's best man and fraternity brother and his wife is one of my favorite people ever!  Then we'll take the train over to Michigan to visit my grandma and family.  She lives right on Lake Michigan...it's one of the prettiest spots ever!  I cannot WAIT!  {But I can wait for the airplane ride with a young toddler...really dreading that part...help!}

Thoughts for Thursday

Happy August!

via

I can hardly believe the summer is flying by so quickly!  We only get so many warm days in Tahoe so I am trying to embrace them as much as possible!  For example, this weekend, we're going to drive around the lake for the first time ever.  True, I've been to all of the cities around the lake at one point or another, but I've never taken a day to be a tourist and just drive around the lake.  Crazy, right?  We plan to have a fun lunch and do some shopping all while taking in the beautiful scenery.

Also crazy, is the fact that I have not taken advantage of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  I mean, who am I?  There are so many cuuuuuute clothes for kids, like this star hoodie, these jammies, these dark wash jeans and top siders for boys and girls.  Speaking of girls, I'm loving this cute "smile" top and chevron dress.  Have you shopped the sale yet?  Any good finds?

And even though I'm not eager for summer to end, I'm excited to get into fall and perhaps darken up my hair a bit.  What do you think?  I've only gone dark once before {waaay back in college} and I think it was a little too drastic.

So maybe something with a little more honey blonde would work?

Speaking of brunettes...

Did you guys watch the Bachelorette finale {well, Part 1 anyway} this past Monday?  OH man...they sure pulled a rabbit out of a hat with that one, right?  But I have to say, I'm fully convinced he comes back next week, which is why the whole finale was switched up.  I guess we shall see!

Last, I plan to debut Ethan's one year photos tomorrow...here's a sneak peek:

I am seriously SO in love with them...I can't wait to share the rest!

How's that for my random thoughts for Thursday?

Until tomorrow...

Shopping Confessions::Scottsdale Edition

Hi Beauties!

I am super relaxed and even a little tanned from our getaway to Scottsdale.  It was so nice to have four whole days of nothing but sun, rest, reading {I finished the second Hunger Games book!}, shopping, and great eating!  We got to go to a movie theater called iPic where the chairs recline, there are pillows & blankets, and recliner-side service!  You could order anything from booze to full meals...even candy in a martini glass!  It was awesome!

I thought I would share some of my shopping finds with you...you know I have to take advantage when I get a chance to shop!  ;)

This awesome top from lululemon is everything I have dreamed of and more!  It's SUPER long in real life...which is great for a preggo like me and reversible.  I am also loving the color...so pretty!

You know I am loving neon right now, so this Gap scarf totally spoke to me.  I love the polka dots and it's really wide, which makes it more like a pashmina!

I got these flats in chalk and they are super comfy...more comfy than the other city flats I have.  I think the elastic at the top helps.  And bonus...they're on sale!

Oh yes, and I finally got the Volcano candle...it smells SOO good!

And because you can't go shopping without thinking of the little guy, we scored some super cute outfits for Baby Schue.  This jumpsuit has little rhinos on it and a neon green detail.  :)

I saw an adorable blue dress at Anthro that would be perfect for my shower...but now I can't find it online.  Darn!  Hopefully it shows up soon!

Have you shopped recently?
