Baby's First Easter

Sweater  | Basket | Bunny Teether | Bow Tie | Book | Bath Toy | Bib | Stuffed Animal Bunny

Easter marks the last of Ethan's first major holidays, so naturally, I'm getting a bit nostalgic and want to do everything I can to commemorate this special time.  My mom was always good about making a big deal about holidays.  I remember waking up on Easter morning to an overflowing Easter basket and then hunting for eggs around the house.  We would always go to church and then have an Easter brunch.  There are so many fun traditions tied to Easter and I want to give Ethan the same magical feeling that I had on Easter Sunday.

The one thing that I made sure to get right was Ethan's first {and hopefully only!} Easter basket.  We custom ordered a basket from Pottery Barn and had his name embroidered.  It was a tad pricey, but I know Ethan will use it for years to come.  Ironically, I didn't do this for Christmas...I really need to get on it with his stocking for this coming year!

I had fun ordering some gifts to fill his basket with.  The book above is one I remember from my childhood.  I can't wait to read it to him!  And of course, every first Easter needs to include a bunny rabbit....so there will be plenty of those too!

Do you make a big deal out of Easter?  Any fun traditions you want to share??

  1. I already have a pile of things set aside for Avery's Easter basket, which I haven't purchased yet! I got her The Velveteen Rabbit, one of my favorite books growing up. I'm going to have to check out that book that you bought for Ethan.

  4. We did the egg hunt as kids and I made sure to do it for ours. It was one of my favorite memories running around the house and then the dewy grass outside grabbing up candy :)

  5. Love Easter brunch! Unfortunately now that we live in San Diego my in laws do a late afternoon get-together, which doesn't feel quite the same. Still an egg hunt, but I'm nostalgic for mimosas and a big fancy brunch! ;) Such a cute roundup.

  9. We always dyed eggs and had an Easter egg hunt. I still love dying the eggs and seeing what new fun designs I can do! I probably get into it more than my nieces and nephew, but I can't help myself. So fun that you are going to start your own traditions with Ethan!

  11. I ordered Owen a embroidered basket last year from PBK for his first Easter and I'm so glad I did. Ours wasn't too pricey thought since it's all fabric, but I hope he'll use it for egg hunts in the future!

  12. So sweet! We loved celebrating Easter when we were little, always with an easter basket and a very competitive easter egg hunt ;) Glad you're already creating family traditions that Ethan will come to cherish as he grows older.

  15. Love all his Easter picks & I swear when I was a kid everything felt magical, I think no matter how big or small you celebrate is all relative, although my mom was a basket boss, so hard to come close to the awesome baskets she made ;)
