Favorite Wall Art

A key component in decorating any space is the walls...whether it's a light fixture, wall paper or art, a room can really come together with the right wall decor.

Many of you know my love for Minted {we use them for all of our holiday cards, birthday invitations and decor, and announcements...I WISH they were around when we got married because I love their wedding invitations} and the love continues with their art prints.

Here are some of my favorites...

There are so many good ones, it's hard to only pick a few!

Right now, Minted is celebrating their nine year anniversary and offering 15% off sitewide with code NINE. The offer expires on Monday so get to it!

#SchueCasa: Living Room Inspiration

Ah the living room. I will say that this room will be tricky to not try to "fill" right away. Ideally, I would like to move our sectional up to the playroom and have more of a grown up space in our main living room, but I also want to buy pieces that are worth the investment and/or really want fits the space. I love the idea of mixing a leather couch with a love seat and two accent chairs...all neutral so we can have some fun with the accent pillows. And we are planning to have the ceiling open to the second floor, so a big, statement chandelier is a must!

We would also love built-ins around the fireplace and TV, so whether we are able to do that during the build or after, I am looking forward to that extra storage!

Here are some more photos to showcase the inspiration I have in mind...

You can tell I have a major obsession with Amber Interiors and McGee Studio! Two of my favorites!

Spring Trends to Love

Spring is officially here, though you wouldn't know it up here in Tahoe! ;) All the more reason to start dreaming of a wardrobe that consists more of dresses and open-toed shoes, rather than parkas and mittens! Here are some of the trends that I'm loving right now...

Blue Patterns
There are so many gorgeous blue patterns out for spring right now...like this checked dress, this tie-dye wrapped one-piece, and this off-the-shoulder floral dress!

Swing Jacket
A casual look that pairs well with spring staples. Loving this army green (this too), this pretty pink and this cream color!

Honorable mention also goes to the trench vest!

Mules
Easy, chic and practical...these are the best for on-the-go women! Loving this heeled pair, this silver pair and this affordable pair.

Raw + Undone Denim Hems
There are so many good options out there, like this Madewell pair (these too), this super affordable pair and a pair worth investing in.

Suede Blush
So many pretty suede blush items out there, like this tote, these heeled sandals, and this gorgeous jacket!

Shop more of my favorites in the tab at the top! ;)

Weekend Alone with Two Toddlers

I've been flying solo for the last four days and though I know this is not a big deal in terms of doing the whole parenthood thing, for me, it meant wrangling children in the mornings so that we all got to where we needed to be in time, bedtime routine with two-on-one and basically keeping my sanity!

I am happy to report that we all survived and had fun in the process...here are some of our adventures...

We kicked off the weekend with St. Patrick's Day. I totally panicked that morning and realized that I needed to do something so I ran a trail of Cheerios from the boys bedrooms, put green milk in their cereal, cut up a gift bag to make rainbow placements and let a "surprise" of green dye in the toilet. Ethan was SO excited about it, it made the hustle worth it. He's still talking about it three days later, which says something!

Later that day, we had special pictures taken in Ethan's 4 year old outfit. This outfit was worn by his grandma's family, his dad and now him, so it's pretty darn special!

When I picked them up that day, they were pooped!

I loved really seeing the boys play and hear all the cute things they would say to each other. Each night, when they went to bed, Ethan would hug him and say how much he loves his brother and how he'll love him forever. Melt.my.heart.

Thankfully, we had a fun birthday party on Saturday, which was great for burning energy, while subsequently overdosing on sugar!

Pizza night on Saturday night with friends!

Wyatt copies everything his brother does, so naturally, he wanted to float on his belly in the bath.

I've decided Sunday morning baths are the way to go...just look at these happy guys!

Ethan has his first soccer game on Sunday...their team name is the 'Jammers' and Ryan's aunt was beyond gracious in helping coach the team in his absence. Ethan had a blast and loves bragging about being the "star" of the team and making a "goaler"! Love him.

Shopping with two...a success! As long as there are cuties and cookies nearby...

And as I said before, monkey see, monkey do. Plus Wyatt has remnants of his cutie down the front of his shirt! ;)

I survived thanks to support from my friends and family, lots of giggles and grace with the boys and of course, wine. I appreciate my husband 1000x more in these moments...and as I type this, I'm hearing his booming voice read The Lorax to Ethan...thank goodness he's home!

Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Tomorrow is St. Patty's Day and instead of green, I'm dreaming of all things rainbows! Did anyone ever watch Rainbow Brite? That swimsuit is such a great throwback, don't you think? And I'm dying over those cute sandals too! So many adorable ways to rock the colors of the rainbow for all the kiddos!

Maybe this weekend, I'll get ambitious and make this too! ;)

The sun has come out in Tahoe and it's reminded me of how much I LOVE the sunshine...even when we're still surrounded by snow! Thank goodness for daylight savings this weekend!

+ Is anyone else excited for the Bachelor finale?! I am such a sucker for trashy reality TV, especially this show! And if you don't read Sharleen's recaps, you're missing out!

+ Totally want to try this White Girl Rose'!

+ I could just die over this baby bunny sweatshirt for Easter!

5 Pairs of Denim I'm Loving

I'm always on the hunt for the next pair of jeans that are figure-flattering and comfortable. I haven't spent a lot of money on jeans lately, mainly because I am still in the process of losing the last of the baby weight {#2yearslater}, but it's my favorite thing to wear on the weekends and for date night. Here are my five favorite pair of jeans lately...

Joe's Jeans: Found at TJMaxx or Nordstrom Rack for a discount. I have a couple pairs of these jeans {as seen here and here} and absolutely love them! They're comfortable and yet still stylish, which is great for this mom-on-the-go!

Old Navy Rockstar Jeans: I absolutely adore these jeans and always get compliments on them when I wear them {I have them in white too}. Plus I am not lying when I say they are the most comfortable jeans I own. PLUS they're the cheapest! Totally worth snagging a couple pairs, especially when you're in-between sizes like me! You can see me wearing them here and here.

Madewell Demi-Boot Jeans: These jeans are definitely next on my list to buy. People {and bloggers} rave about them and I feel like they'll be pretty flattering as well. The light wash is perfect for spring. I also love the black pair as well.

MOTHER Jeans: This is a new-to-me brand but I tried them on when I was shopping in Healdsburg and fell in love! They're not cheap, but I think they're worth the investment, especially if you can find them on sale. I just snagged a pair from Nordstrom on sale...keep an eye out!

Blank NYC Denim: Last, I love a relaxed fit and this pair does the trick! Order down a size as they are a bit oversized and don't have a ton of stretch, but I love this pair for the price point.

So there you have it! My 5 favorite pairs of jeans! What's your favorite?

#SchueCasa: Guest Bathroom Inspiration

Hello! I'm back again with more inspiration for our new house build {#schuecasa}. We are getting closer to finalizing our floor plan which is super exciting! As I said before in my kitchen inspo post, I have a ton of ideas swirling around in my head {and on my Pinterest board} so it definitely helps to focus my thoughts here.

We plan to have a downstairs guest bathroom, that is available to our guests as well as anyone who is hanging out on the main floor. This bathroom will probably be a bit more stylized since most people will see it. I am really loving the idea of a dark black hexagon tile floor, which you can see in some of my inspiration pictures below. It makes a statement, while still remaining a neutral. I also love the idea of leather pulls, but we'll see if I end up pulling the trigger on them! ;) Last, if there is a way to incorporate shiplap into this house, this will probably be the place! I love how it looks! One thing we know for sure that we'll be doing again is subway tile. We have it in both of our bathrooms now and LOVE it. So classic.

Check out more of what I'm loving in a guest bathroom below:
