30 Weeks

How far along? 30 Weeks {first 30 week update}.
Baby Size: A large cabbage
Total weight gain: I show 21.5 pounds but my doctor had me at 14 pounds.  I actually lost weight in my first trimester, so that must be where the discrepancy is coming from.
Maternity clothes? Maternity bottoms and regular tops.  This one is from Target.
Stretch marks? Getting more paranoid by the day...
Sleep: My lower back is definitely starting to take a toll.  I feel huge, achy and did I mention huge?
Best moment this week: Visiting Jane in Portland...recap here!
Miss Anything?  Missing amazing coffee in Portland...and their donuts too!
Movement: Yes, all the time!
Food cravings: Let's see...bagels, especially the pumpkin flavored ones.  Sweets...of any kind.  And Raisin Bran...random!
Gender: BOY!
Looking forward to: We *plan* to start working on the nursery and big boy room this weekend.
Differences this time around: My doctor said it's not in my head, that in subsequent pregnancies, you tend to get larger faster but then in the third trimester, it slows down {aka we don't keep growing...I hope that's true!}.  Also, that you may experience a lot more lower pressure, which is definitely the case with me.  Overall, I just feel less limber and able to get around.

  1. You look so beautiful my friend - wow! My doc also said the same about growth - I found with my second pregnancy that I popped out later in the beginning, grew a lot in the second trimester and then it slowed down in the first - I was definitely smaller second time round x

  2. You look great! I know I got bigger the second time and so much more achy. I was pretty much in pain everyday. Just walking caused so much strain on my back. You are getting closer :). It is going to speed by, especially with the upcoming holidays.

  4. I got stretch marks with my first, even with all the lotions and creams. Just got too big, real fast. They aren't so bad now, can hardly see them, I still wear a bikini. Don't stress if they show, they're well deserved battle scars ;)

  5. You look so great! Yeah I got huge way faster the second time and I just "felt" the pregnancy so much more this last time. Crazy how it all works!

  6. You look awesome mama! And seriously, I'm loving your maternity fashion. And also loving that most of the items aren't maternity at all. Especially that cute shirt! Did you find it in store or online?! I'm headed to Target! :)

  7. Hi Natasha -- I have read your blog since I got pregnant with my first (born just a month after Ethan), and had my second just a few weeks ago (another boy -- they're the best!). Rest assured that your doctor was right -- I popped and got large and in charge WAYYYY earlier this pregnancy than with my first. I don't think I really showed with my first until about 7 months. But despite the early gains, I ended up leveling out in the third trimester and looked smaller this round than the last. My son was still the same size as my last (8 lbs 6 oz). So don't fret! That said, you look gorgeous and it sounds like you're doing all you need to do to keep Ethan happy and your second baking nicely. :)
