Hi Schue Lovers! I'm Michelle from Ten June. I'm so glad to be dropping by Schue Love since Natasha is one of my favorite blogging friends- in fact, we're actually real life friends! We met this summer while in San Francisco and hit it off like we'd known each other for ages : )

my sister, Tori-- me-- Courtney-- Natasha

We're on the subject of fall today with Natasha's "Fall Five" series! I have to admit, I could go on and on about all things autumn- it is by far my favorite season! Want to know my absolute favorites? Here's a hint: they all involve food!

PUMPKIN. SPICE. LATTE.
Need I say more? I don't think so!

This might reveal the inner redneck in me, but I looove boiled peanuts! There's a pumpkin patch down the road from us that sells bags of boiled peanuts throughout the season. In my opinion, the perfect fall day is rambling through their corn maze with a bag full of hot boiled peanuts... YUM!

 via
Mmmm. Fall beer. I love trying fun beers and fall is the best time of year to do so! There are always all kinds of fun flavors and seasonal brews. Oh and lets not forget spiked apple cider- always good at a cold morning football tailgate!

This is my world famous Ooey Gooey Pumpkin Cake. It's incredible. And actually not my recipe at all- it's Paula Deen's recipe, but I like to call it my own because I'm famous for it around my family! So go buy yourself 19 sticks of butter and whip this up! Ha, kidding... kind of.... ; )

Right when the weather gets cool, I start cooking up chili. It's one of my hubs' favorites! Last year, I served up chili in adorable biscuit baskets which you can read about here.

Ok not only does all of this have me hungry, I am READY for fall! Bring on the cold weather and good eats! : ) Thanks so much for letting me crash your blog today, Natasha! xo

Online Shopping Confessions

Well I suppose with all the Missoni for Target mayhem that has been going on lately {as in the last 24 hours}, that today would be just as good as any to divulge my latest online buys with all of you.

Living in Tahoe, there are not many retail options in town.  Don't get me wrong...there are several cute boutiques that fulfill the need to go out and shop...but I'm talking about the big guys.  We don't have Nordstrom, Gap, J. Crew, Target {gasp!} or anything of the like within a 45 minute haul from here.  So I often turn to the online world to get my shopping done.

Happily, Piperlime is only online which makes me feel like everyone else out there!  I can shop online and not be concerned about trying it on, like I would with a retail front.  Here are some recent buys:

Got this Patterson J. Kincaid tuic on mega sale {similar found here} and LOVE it!  Perfect for fall and it fits great.

Also got this Hive & Honey sweater on mega sale {link no longer available} and love it even more than I could imagine.  It has a great weight and it perfect with cut-off jean shorts or skinnies and boots.  Me loves.

Yes, I know summer is over, but I got these Steve Madden wedges for a great deal and I know I will just love them come next spring/summer.

Have you ever ordered from Piperlime?  I am always impressed with their packaging and attention to detail.  They really make you feel special.

I also recently embarked on an Express online run.  I used to work for Express...back in the day when they did not have a website.  They've definitely come a long way and I am always surprised to find out that certain items are from there.

Love this chiffon dress.  I followed the reviews {which I always suggest doing before buying} and everyone said it was HUGE on!  So I ordered 2 sizes down and while it fits, it is pretty dang short.  I'm debating taking it back for the next size up...or maybe I'll just wear it more like a tunic?

I saw this hot little number on several celebs the last couple months and again, could not believe it was Express!  And although this looks super tight-fitting on the model, it's actually more lose and casual in person.  Again...pretty short, but definitely ok for the weekends!

And then of course...there is Missoni for Target.  Everyone has already said everything that can be said about this limited edition line...so I won't drone on too long!  I stayed up until midnight, hoping and praying the sale would go live.  No luck.  Then woke up to the same headache of a crashed site.  Ahhh!  I was able to get on quickly to order these rain boots.  I am pretty excited about them...cannot wait to see how they are in person.  But of course, there are still so many items I would just love to have.  I *hope* that Target re-stocks our closest retail store.  Pretty please?!?

Did you try to shop Missoni for Target yesterday?  Did you get anything good?  Do tell!

Asparagus & Proscuitto Pizza

Thank you to everyone who chimed in yesterday on what color we should go for...as always, you're all a BIG help and I'll keep you posted on the direction we go!  :)

Now onto Tasty Tuesday...

I recently acquired a taste for proscuitto...which is odd, because I'm not really a fan of red meat...especially pork.  I blame it on our weekend away in Sonoma...I had thinly sliced proscuitto with bread dipped in olive oil and I was hooked.  I can't explain it...maybe because it's paper thin, or because it's salty & savory, like a good cheese...I don't know!  But I definitely love it.

I also happen to love asparagus...and am always looking for new ways to enjoy it.  So...you've all heard of proscuitto wrapped asparagus...what about asparagus & proscuitto pizza?!  I have to say...it was a very happy marriage.  The combination of the proscuitto with asparagus...along with the melty cheese and bite of scallion was pure perfection.  You really need to try this ASAP!

I found the basis of this recipe through Deb at  Smitten Kitchen.  I really cannot give the recipe justice the way she did, so will not share it here, but instead encourage you to stop by to get the scoop!  She's witty and thorough...you'll love her.

She teaches you how to peel asparagus, which is a delicious way to prepare this veggie.  Even after grilling the pizza, you still get a crunch when you bite in.

She suggests adding lemon and pinch of red pepper flakes, which we happily obliged.  We also grilled the pizza, per her advice.  The only difference was that we used a pre-made pizza dough and added the proscuitto.

This will definitely be a regular favorite of ours...so yummy!!

What do you think of proscuitto?  Are you a fan?

Hope you enjoy!  Bon Appetit!

Black or White?

A while ago, I showcased our kitchen {post found here} and as part of that post, I included pictures of our kitchen hutch.

Now, since our cabinets are real cedar, we are not planning to paint them {which would be a sin according to my husband}.  Our kitchen hutch, on the other hand, is definitely not real wood so I can paint it to my heart's content.  The question is...what color?

I initially thought that black would be a good color.  The accent furniture in the adjacent living and dining room is black, so it would tie it together.

But white is so fresh!  I think it would open up the room.

But black is a great pop!

But white would fulfill my need for white cabinets!

Of course, there is always gray...

Or light blue...

Or of course white!  :)

What do you think?  Black...white...or other?
