5 Things // Wedding Edition

My brother is getting married THIS Saturday and it's got me reminiscing about our wedding which was a little over five years ago {you can see details here}.  I still love so much about our wedding...the dress, the location, the guy!  ;)  And of course, I got married BP {before Pinterest} which I consider both a blessing and a curse.  If I were to get married now, there are definitely some things I would change.  Allow me to dream just a little...

1. Invitations

I would splurge for letterpress...so classic!

2. Bridesmaid dresses

I still love that we had navy dresses but I think I would go long and chiffon.  PS...fun fact: this is a friend of a friend's wedding...so pretty!

3. Portrait

We do not have ONE picture of the two of us looking at the camera and smiling!  So crazy, but true.  And of course, what photo does our entire family want?  The portrait that we do not have.

4. DIY Details

Like I said, our wedding was BP, so DIY was a foreign term.  But I think if we did it again, we would have some more DIY touches.

5. More flowers!

Ok this may be overkill, but can you ever have too many flowers?  I think not!

What would you change about your wedding?

  3. I love that reference, "BP", and totally agree it's a blessing and a curse. My sister got married recently and I feel like I was going crazy with the DIYs!!! LOL! And I lurrrrrve those navy dresses.

  4. Oh! And I was gonna say- after y'all have all your babies, you should do a "trash the dress" photo shoot and get a pic of y'all smiling at the camera! With your babes!

  5. totally agree that being BP is a blessing and curse. I actually did a bunch of DIY (thanks to my obsession with wedding message boards and sites like SMP and WeddingBee) but now compared to the beauty on pinterest they just seem laughable.

  9. I got married BP too! While I loved out wedding, I think if I would do it all over again several things would change! New location, a vintage/country vibe, and more direction on our photos!

  10. Oh yes, I got married BP too. I loved so much about our day but of course there are still things I'd change if I could. I'd have hired a different photographer, spent less money on invitations, and gotten my darn husband to the site on time so we didn't have to miss the cocktail hour taking pictures. But I'd still marry him. ;)

  12. That is so funny about the portraits bc we were in the same position. Luckily I booked a wreck the dress session with a local (amazing photographer) a couple months after our wedding (got same hair, make-up flowers, rented the same tux) and we had a session complete with portraits that I absolutely LOVE! Anyway - I agree with MORE flowers and maybe less people 200+ is a lot of people to try and be intimate with. We loved our wedding and still reminisce on how fun, beautiful amazing it was!

  13. My two biggest wedding fails were 1. I don't have a picture of just me and my mom (how the f does that happen?) and 2. I don't have a photo of me with just my grandpa who (bless his heart) flew from New York at 91 years old to attend our wedding!
