I'm Getting Attacked!

By mosquitoes that is!!

Tahoe is not normally known for these annoying little pests, but with all the water {or snow rather} we've gotten this past year, they are out in full force!  We live near a river, so they are especially bad by us right now!  It definitely makes me think of all the ways we could keep them away...all the pretty ways in particular!

And for some repellent ideas:

Eucalyptus, lemongrass, and mint leaf mosquito-repellent candles.

Homemade repellent, recipe found {here}.

Basil is a natural mosquito repellent...why not incorporate it into a centerpiece?

How are the mosquitoes in your neck of the woods?  Hopefully not as bad!

PS...I ordered calling cards and they just came in!
Aren't they cute??  Pixel Impress made them for me and I am defintiely in love!  :)

P.P.S. Jenna Lee of a la mode is featuring my lake wedding today!  Check it out here!

  3. 1. Now I need calling cards. I LOVE yours.

    2. We have SUCH bad mosquitos here in North Jersey...we can't go outside in the AM or when the sun goes in, and when I sit at the computer desk late at night, I'll get up w/15 bites. And I try not to use unhealthy bug spray, which doesn't always work....

  7. In answer to the calling card question...I think of them as mini-business cards for my blog. I'm going to my very first blogger meet-up next Thursday and this will help identify me for those who may not recognize me right away! Also, to pass out to let more people know about my blog. I'm sure there is a more specific answer for "calling cards" but this is what I'm using them for! :)

  23. Such pretty pics. Those are definitely lovely ways to keep the mosquitos at bay. I use an organice, all natural bug spray - seems to work well, although they aren't too too bad here yet.

Also a little in love with those netting ideas. I've always wanted an amazing gauzy four-poster bed strung all over with white fairy lights. Clearly I'm never going to grow up!
