Hold the Phone::Bachelor Alert!

Ok, you know I normally NEVER post twice in one day, but this could not wait!  I just found out that Peyton {from Andy's season, and more recently on the Bachelor Pad} and Chris {from Ali's season} are ENGAGED!

Why do I care that much you ask?  Well Peyton is a Tri Delta and so am I...and she just happened to be a field consultant when I was President.  She was a great support for me back then and I remember how sweet she was.  I totally rallied for her on Andy's season, as well as Bachelor Pad.  I also just loved Chris and really hoped he would be the next Bachelor.  Anyway...I could have never imagined these two would get together, but I think it's super sweet!  Can't wait to see wedding photos!  xo

More on the story here and here!

Ok, I'm done gushing...back to our regular programming!

Decks, Dads & Dogs!

That's right folks...it's the Triple D!  Our weekend was full of all three and I am happy to finally reveal our progress on our deck.  We're not done yet, but you can see that hubby and his dad have been hard at work...they even worked on Father's Day...we're lucky to have such a devoted Dad!  I'll start at the beginning...

 Yes, this is what was our deck...pretty sad right?  We have since discovered that the addition to our house was actually done over the previous deck...pretty scary!!!  Luckily, my hubs and his dad are extremely talented and were able to restructure the bad work from before.

 A wide shot of our house...you can see our master bedroom slider stepped out onto nothing.

 The boys starting to lay the cement piers.

 Wilson dismayed with all the hullabaloo!

 The corner of the overhang desperately needed to be restructured!

No more old deck!

 Future spot of the new deck!

That looks like the support it should have had all along!

 Support beams going in!

 Wilson is still not too sure!

 Progress!

Are you seeing the vision!?

 That sliding door leads to our master...it will be SO nice to have a deck there!

 AH-MAZING progress!

 And Wilson now thinks he's a lap dog...oy!

That is one pooped pup!

We expect to have the deck completed by this weekend...can't wait to show you the final product!

Happy Father's Day

I would like to honor my dad today...I've always been Daddy's Little Girl and even though I'm grown up and married...my dad will forever be an important figure in my life.  I cherish our memories: from Indian Princesses, Cotillion Dances, trips to Lake Powell, his famous chocolate chip pancakes {guest post idea?!}, and walking me down the isle...I have been super blessed to call him my Dad.

Then...

and now...love you Dad!

Happy Father's Day!

Friday Fancies::Dad's Day BBQ

Happy Friday People!

I'm glad this week is coming to a close...I was in Reno {yes, the biggest little city} on Wednesday and Thursday and I am so glad to be back in Tahoe now.  I am also getting my hair done tonight, which is long past-due, so that makes me extremely happy!

Today is also special because it is my father-in-law's birthday and this past Tuesday was my dad's birthday...and of course you know that Sunday is Father's Day!  Lots going on this week...and all to celebrate Dad.

I started to put together an outfit for the birthday dinner tonight but couldn't seem to pull it together, so I went to option B, which ended up working out for Friday Fancies this week!

I must say, I really would love to own this outfit.  I am LOVING this bright yellow Tibi tank and the cute patten on the DVF shorts!

These wedges SO need to be mine...they're WAY to expensive, but I have a major crush on them.  Also loving the DVF shorts...I must have a style crush this week, no?

As always, Kate Spade is my go-to for jewelry and the fedora hat is a great staple for the summer.

Hubby and Dad-in-Law have been steadily working on our back deck...can't wait to show you the progress and final product...hopefully by the end of the next week!  We'll be having a lot of deck get-togethers once that baby is done!  Yay!  :)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend...I'm looking forward to catching up with all of you!
