Baby Ethan: Week 24

Weight: I'm guessing we're pushing 14+ by now!

Health: A little congested, but otherwise, healthy and happy.

Sleep: Ugh, we're waking up 2-3, sometimes 4 times a night.  Brutal.  I've noticed that if we let him cry a little, he'll usually soothe himself back to sleep, but it's hit or miss.

Social: We had an "ugly Christmas sweater party" over at Jane's house this past weekend.  Ethan got to meet another baby who is his age.  They were too cute, holding hands and checking each other out.

Diet: Welp, we finally introduced formula to the diet.  I'm still nursing him when I'm with him, but on the days I'm at work, we're supplementing half and half.  And no surprise, he downed it like a champ.  I think we're going to go ahead and introduce rice cereal soon...or oatmeal.  I've heard reviews on both.  If you're a mama with experience on this topic, let me know!

Clothes: Still 3-6 for the most part with a mix of 6-9.  Also still rocking his 2 diapers.

Baby Gear Love: Ethan loves anything he can chew on...including chewbeads and Sopie.  He's also really digging anything that moves or lights up.  So much fun!

Crying: Just when he's tired.

Likes: Sucking on his hand or thumb.  Smiling and laughing!

Postpartum: Let's just say that I'm indulging in the holidays and it's starting to show.

Milestones: We've got a sitting baby!!  Yep, Ethan is figuring out the balancing act that is sitting.  He's not a pro yet, but it is so fun to see him propped up.  And of course it gives him all sorts of new opportunities to play!

And we also met Santa for the first time!  It wasn't the first meeting that I envisioned, but I panicked that we hadn't met him yet, so we made it happen.  Ethan was super intrigued by his beard.

O Christmas Tree

Yay!  It's Christmas Tree time and I'm so excited to share our 2012 tree with you!  :)

As you know from my DIY pinecone wreath and mantel, we're going for a more rustic and natural look this year...which means lots of metallics, burlap browns, and winter whites.  And very little red.  It was actually fun to sort through my ornaments and display my neutral baubles on the tree.

I especially love Baby's First Christmas ornaments!

Some burlap ribbon, crystal garland and mercury glass ornaments set the ton.

Another Baby's First!

It puts out such a great glow...love it!

Of course, the space would not be complete without a couple toys!

Or a cute baby!  ;)

And a nighttime shot...complete with cropping out of the baby swing and all!  ;)

So there you have it...our Christmas Tree!

You can see our 2011 tree here!  :)

Now head on over to Honey We're Home to link up your Christmas Tree!!

And don't forget to stop by on Thursday to share your recipes!

Baby's Wish List

Having a little one means getting to enjoy the holidays in a whole new way.  I get to discover Christmas through my son's eyes and nothing could renew my love for the holidays like creating new traditions and wrapping TOYS for under the tree!  Even though he is too young to remember {Hey!  That's what pictures are for!} I am having way too much fun finding fun and whimsical toys and clothes to shower him with this year.

Here's a little snapshot of what's on Ethan's Christmas list:

Fair Isle Beanie: I love all things Fair Isle pattern and this beanie is perfect for my little man!  It's on sale now too!
Gummy Stick Baby Massagers: I've heard this is great for teething...especially the back molers.
Baby Uggs: Even though Ethan got his first official pair of Uggs already, these are supposed to fit great and not fall off!
Boon Bath Toy Appliques: Ethan loves bath time!  These bath toys are the cutest!
Imaginarium Walker: Another recommended item, we actually got this from Ethan's uncle...and though he's too small for it now, he loves banging the xylophone.
Kushies Toy: How cute is this little bug?  We want it!
The Jolly Christmas Postman: I grew up reading the Jolly Postman...so naturally we have to have the Christmas version!
Melissa & Doug Bug Jug: Another item that Ethan already received...such a boy toy!
Itzy Ritzy Shopping Cart Cover: I adore this print and now that Ethan is close to sitting, it will be great to have a cover for shopping trips.
Boon Whale Bath Storage: Again, the perfect storage for bath time...I see lots of bath toys in our future!

And since I know all of us moms are always on the lookout for cute clothing companies...I wanted to introduce you to Joules!

I'm totally in love with all the bright and bold colors...not to mention the cuter than cute patterns.  We got the little goat outfit in the bottom left corner and I can't wait to dress Ethan up in it!

Happy Shopping...only 15 more days until Christmas!

His Christmas Wish List

Why are men so hard to shop for?  Or is it my guy specifically?  I think I would get his stamp of approval on the above items though!  He's always down for a nice new button down shirt...and this red plaid one is perfect for winter.  I would also love for him to get a pair of chukkas, but I might be stretching my luck.  I DO know that he loves this leather Kenneth Cole watch...and I appove.

I would also love to get him into a more sophisticated pair of sunglasses...these were actually hand picked by the hubby...they have a cool wood grain texture to them.

When in doubt, booze or techy gifts are no brainers.  Ryan is digging the new mini iPad, and so am I!  And I think this duct tape iPhone case is pretty cool too.  Of course, whiskey tends to be every guy's favorite drink, so why not indulge him?

What are you getting your special guy this Christmas?  You know, that can include dads and brothers too!  ;)
