Mama + Mini Plaid for Fall

Mama + Mini Plaid

Mama: Sweater // Pants // Glittens // Necklace // Heels
Mini: Shirt // Trapper Hat // Pants // Shoes // Scarf

As the temps have cooled off, the days have gotten shorter and the holidays peek around the corner...I've found myself drawn to rich patterns, like plaids and fun textures like this marled effect.  I was delighted to see that Gap makes these beyond adorable plaid pants for baby and of course, I would love to match his style.  I think this "mama" outfit would be great for Thanksgiving or your holiday card, don't you?

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  I'm off to San Francisco to celebrate one of my best friend's 30th birthday!

Wedding Weekend

Tonight we have our good friends wedding and I am planning to wear this dress!  It's super flattering on...and would you believe it's Jessica Simpson?!  Way to go J!  I am also loving these heels and always like to spray a little Narcisco on before heading out the door.  It's my favorite nighttime scent!

What are your plans this weekend?

Bridal Shower Attire

Dress // Earrings // Bracelets // Clutch // Heels // Polish // Gloss

This weekend is my best friend's bridal shower!  I'm so honored to be her co-maid of honor, so it makes the whole weekend that much more special to be able to celebrate with her.

I'm planning to wear a pink Rebecca Taylor dress, but I recently saw this one on Natalie's blog and absolutely adore it {and it's on mega sale now!}.  The shape looks ultra flattering and there are so many ways to style it.  Like with these awesome black and metallic heels or some bracelets from Emily Maynard's new line.  I'm actually totally digging her jewelry...and it's all affordable.  Way to go!

Do you have any bridal showers coming up?

Have a great weekend!

Mom on the Go Style

Tote | Top | Sunglasses | Earrings | Sandals | Jeans

Hi Friends...and Happy Friday!  I don't know about you, but coming off a short week last week, this week seemed super long!  So happy the weekend is finally here!

It's likely that if you lived in Tahoe, you'd see me running around in an outfit like the above.  I am loving boyfriend jeans right now...they're loose and comfortable, but still cute.  Throw an easy tee on top, in a pretty color like this mint, and that's my mommy uniform most days.  An oversized tote is also a necessity.  With a tee and jeans, I try to incorporate stylish accessories like these sandals with the metallic detail and mint studs.  Last, a great pair of shades are definitely appropriate...especially to hide my tired eyes!  ;)

What does your mommy style look like these days?

Have a great weekend!!

Boho Love

I found this adorable little romper and wanted to build an outfit around it.  The back is super cute and flirty and it seems like a great piece to kick off the spring with.  I have to say that my favorite accessory here is this amazing turquoise cuff.  I am dying to own one like this one day.

Happy Friday...and Happy Weekend!

Friday Fancies: Transitioning into Spring

top.necklace.jeans.jacket.heels.bag

While spring may be in full effect where you live, it's just starting to warm up here in Tahoe.  And while I can't wait to bust out my espadrilles and sun dresses, the weather isn't quite cooperating yet.

I love the idea of pairing pastels and whites with some harder elements like leather and studs during this transition from winter to spring.  The open toe heels breathe some fresh air into this look and the casual striped jacket adds some easiness.  Oh and you can't forget this awesome gold plate collar necklace...such a fun piece!

How do you transition your wardrobe from winter to spring?

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Fancy Easter + Ethan's Easter Basket

skirt.blouse.necklace.bangle.bangle.clutch.flats

I honestly can't believe Easter is this Sunday...it seems like it came so fast!  I always think of Easter as a time to dress up, attend church and go to brunch.  This year, of course, things are a bit more lively!  Though Ethan won't be hunting for eggs quite yet, we still have his basket ready to go!  It's his last first "big" holiday, so you better believe that we're going ALL out!  ;)

Of course, if the Easter bunny still brought me a basket, I would go crazy over the J.Crew necklace!  Such a beauty!

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter Weekend!

Friday Fancies: Oscars Fashion

Dress | Earrings | Perfume | Lipstick | Heels | Clutch

I always get excited for the Academy Awards...it's the last awards show of the season and everyone dresses to the nines!  If I were to go...I would go with a simple and classic look: black.  I love this Marchesa dress...the lace and the peekaboo effect make it sexy and chic.

And I always have fun checking out style.com for the latest fashion...these heels and clutch are from the Spring 2013 line...gorgeous!  Last, a little Chanel goes a long way...a bright red lip would complete this look.  Total showstopper!

Here are some other runway looks that I'm drooling over:

Will you be watching the Oscars this weekend?

Look for Less: Valentine's Day

Luxe Look: Dress | Heels | Earrings
Look for Less: Dress | Heels | Earrings | Clutch

For those of you who are celebrating Valentine's Day this weekend, I thought I would put together a look for your night out.  I've been eying this DVF dress for some time, but there is no way I could afford the hefty price tag.  So I was pleased to find this alternative at Nordstrom!  And of course, I had to pair the dress with these new heels from the Prabal Gurung for Target collection.  They are such a versatile heel...great for any occasion!

  So, did you celebrate last night or are you going out this weekend?

Friday Fancies::Thanksgiving Ta Da!

Bag | Sweater | Pants | Earrings | Ring | Loafers

Can you believe Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK?!  I'm still shocked that it snuck up on us so fast!  And we're back to traveling...this time down to my hometown to see my family for the holidays.

If I could wear anything I would opt for something like the above...opulent yet still casual enough.  How is that possible?  I say, rich patterns and textures with "comfy" basics...like a sweater and flats.  And I'm seriously drooling over this Chloe bag.

Of course, I can't forget my little turkey!

Checkered Bodysuit | Vest | Checkered Onesie | Sweater
Cords | Beanie | Socks | Uggs | Striped Onesie | Moccasins | Overalls

So many cute things to dress the little guy up in!  Just wait for the Christmas edition!!

Friday Fancies::New Mom Chic

Hello, friends! It's {av} from {long distance loving}, standing in for Natasha as she enjoys her first few days with her new little man :) She's been a member of the Friday's Fancies family since the early days, so it is an honor to be posting in her place today! Throwing themes aside, I decided to craft a comfy little ensemble for a chic new mom like Natasha...

This easy, breezy Splendid Sleeveless Collared Shirt looks polished--without being too tight or constricting. The lively yellow would also play up the new mom glow ;)

While on the hunt for some chic lounge pants, these Enza Costa Linen Wide Leg Pants caught my eye. They look like wide-leg jeans, but they're cozy like sweatpants. Sign me up!

Perfect for her new little guy's initials, this BaubleBar Large Monogram Pendant would be a fun way to keep him close--for many years to come.

We all know Kate Spade for her clever designs, but this Bon Shopper Baby Bag may take the cake--it's a mobile changing table pad and tote all in one. Hello, genius!

For a little more jazz than plain jane flip flops, these KORS Michael Kors Zanna Chain Sandals fit the bill.

Have a great weekend, everyone! xoxo {av} | {long distance loving}

Friday Fancies::Summer Sizzle

Summer Sizzle

Bracelets 1:2:3:4 // Tote // Dress // Necklace // Hat // Polish // Sandals

Summer is officially here!  And it makes me want to jump into something bright and cheery!  I would never think to match red, hot pink and neon yellow together, but somehow I think it works!  I would love to stroll the boardwalk or grab a bite to eat in this look.  Sometimes it's fun to step a little bit outside your comfort zone...what do you think?

Do you have any plans for this first weekend of summer?  I will be doing anything and everything to induce this baby...think long walks, eating pineapple and spicy food, and lots of foot rubs!  ;)

Hope you have a great weekend!

Friday Fancies::Short & Sweet

Short & Sweet

Hat // Gloss // Necklace // Sandals // Top // Shorts // Tote // Earrings // Bangles

I feel like it's the last day of school!  Today is my last day of work before going on maternity leave.  It's pretty surreal...I don't remember the last time I had this much planned time off.  And though I know it's not going to be anything like a vacation, it's the start of something new.  Just like the summer before going into high school...I've got butterflies and I'm so nervous, yet excited, for what's to come!

I'm also excited to get back into normal clothes...and this outfit embodies a lot of what I would love to wear this summer.  Hot pink shorts and scallop tops?  Yes please!  I also adore {more like LOVE} this initial necklace.  Wouldn't it be cute with our little guy's initial?  I think so!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Friday Fancies::Memorial Day Madness

Memorial Day Madness

Necklace // Wedges // Lipgloss // Dress // Earrings // Swimsuit // Tote

Yay for a three day weekend!!  And yay for the hubby's birthday tomorrow!  ;)

We have good friends coming up this weekend to help us celebrate, which I'm pretty excited about.  The weather, however, doesn't look like it's going to cooperate {there's a chance of snow!}, but we won't let that damper our time together.  It really feels like the last hoorah before baby gets here!  And if the weather were perfect...I would wear this outfit...pregnant or not.  I LOVE this maxi dress!  And the ruffled bikini is adorable.

What are your plans for the long weekend??

Friday Fancies::Weekend Wear

Weekend Wear

Tank // Clutch // Bracelet // Sunglasses // Shorts // Lip Gloss // Necklace // Sandals

We've had a heat wave here in Tahoe, which is pretty unusual for this time of year.  It makes me want to jet off somewhere tropical and glamourous...like Cannes, France {anyone watching the Cannes Film Festival coverage?}!  Sounds nice right?  If I were jetting off somewhere exotic...I would definitely wear this outfit.  I'm totally digging the ikat shorts and ASOS sandals.  An easy breezy top and fancy accessories would be the perfect way to pair the shorts.

Unfortunately, my plans are much more low key...I'll be staying cool so as not to swell up and watching the time tick by in anticipation of Baby Schue's arrival in a couple short weeks!  ;)

Have a great weekend friends!

Friday Fancies::Eclectic Weekend

Eclectic Weekend

Shirt // Earrings // Blush // Shorts // Necklace // Platforms // Clutch

I've got a lot going on this weekend between my baby shower and Mother's Day!  It's got me moving in a couple different directions...which is how this look was born.  There's a lot to love here between the striped shorts, chambray top, neon necklace, and leopard earrings.  But somehow, I think it all works.

I can't wait for my shower tomorrow...and of course I'll share of the details with you next week!  ;)  Hope you all have a great Mother's Day Weekend!

Friday Fancies::Kentucky Derby

Kentucky Derby

Necklace // Wedges // Ring // Dress // Hat // Sunnies // Purse

There is a lot going on this weekend between Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby!  As for my plans...it will be pretty low key!  Maybe a margarita mocktail is in order?

If I could do anything this weekend...I would love to attend the Kentucky Derby!  I mean, how often do we gals get to wear big floppy hats and dress up for such an occasion?  I saw this dress on Veronika earlier this week and love it!  And the mint is a fun accent color...naturally.

Do you have any plans to celebrate the upcoming events this weekend?  Time to share so I can live vicariously through you!  ;)

Friday Fancies::Dot Daytime Date

Dots Day Date

Lip Gloss // Necklace // Wedges // Tank // Earrings // Sunglasses // Bag // Shorts

Happy Friday!

I'm going gaga over lots of elements in my latest Friday Fancy look.  First this dot pattern is showing up everywhere!  I love it!  Also everywhere...the Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac bag...it comes in tons of colors and seems like the perfect accessory for being out and about.  Last, I recently ordered these wedges from Old Navy...I came to the party too late last year and missed out on these wedges.  So I was THRILLED when Old Navy brought them back.  I love how they lace up and they're a great height.

Overall, I think this would be a great look for a daytime date.  You could stroll the Farmer's Market, go on a ferris wheel ride, or sip a chocolate malt.  Sounds pretty good, right?

What items are you currently craving?

Have a great weekend!

Friday Fancies::April Showers

April Showers
Blouse // Flower Ring // Slicker // Skinnies // Flats // Necklace // Lip Balm // Tote // Umbrella

I hope it's true what they say..."April Showers bring May Flowers" because we're getting lots of snow and rain showers lately...which puts a damper on my early spring wardrobe!  Luckily, there are a lot of cute things to wear in the interim, like this linen slicker from J. Crew and fun coral skinnies.

Do you have any fun plans this weekend?  I'd love to hear!

Happy Friday!

Easter Friday Fancies + Recent Buys

Easter Look

Happy Good Friday!!

I can't believe how quickly Easter snuck up on us this year!  We actually don't have big plans...we might go out for brunch or make brunch at home.  But I imagine if I had this DVF dress, then I would be motivated to go big!  Isn't it lovely?  And something that I like to imagine I could wear now.  I'm also loving the turquoise earrings...so pretty!

While I don't have my clutches on this outfit...I thought I'd share a couple recent buys and gifts!

I've had my eye on this dress for a while, and lucky for me, it recently went on sale at Anthro!  I saw it a couple months ago, sans belt, and thought it might be a good contender for my baby shower in Tahoe.  I'll give you the report once it arrives.

I saw these beauties on a woman at the airport...and totally fell in love with them.  I used my stalker sleuth abilities when we went through security and noticed that they are Lucky Brand!  They're sky high, but I love them and the yellow is more of a neon, which I think is a fun twist.

Last, I am the proud winner of these gorgeous bracelets from Nicole's giveaway!!  They just arrived and I love them!  I don't have anything rose gold, so I'm excited to incorporate them into my wardrobe!  :)

Hope you all have a great Easter!!
