Our Fourth of July Weekend

We had the best 4th of July weekend...complete with family, friends, food and fun!

We kicked off the weekend with a fun playdate...Ethan was LOVING the tractor powerwheels...and the moms were loving their wine!  ;)

Later that day...Ethan got soft serve...

And I got mint chip ice cream...my favorite!

That gaze is a combination of too much sugar and no nap!

The gorgeous lake view from my dad's rental.

Wyatt enjoyed the serene setting.

Ethan causing mischief with his stomp rocket...trouble!

We had protein pancakes to kick off the 4th!  The recipe is super simple: one banana + two eggs blended together with some nutmeg and cinnamon.  Easy!

Ethan had his buddy Eden over...aren't they the cutest!?

I seriously die over them!  ;)

Even though our fourth was pretty overcast and stormy {lots of thunderstorms!}, we still enjoyed some festive champs!

And a quick run out to the river!

I can't believe Wyatt is almost SIX months!  Where has the time gone?!

The only benefit to having a stormy day...is the gorgeous sunset!

Love my little family of mine!  We got to watch the fireworks from my dad's rental that night--which overlooked the entire lake.  There were four different sets of fireworks going off at one point.  It was pretty neat and Ethan was SUPER into them this year.

Sunday, the weather was gorgeous again, so we were outside most of the day!

We dined all fresco with caprese salad and fresh grilled salmon!

Oh and have I mentioned that Wyatt is basically sitting up now?

And taking his first taste of food?  He loved this ice cold watermelon...I think he's teething!

Overall, it was a great weekend...I wish we could do it again!!

How did you spend your 4th?!

  8. What a wonderful weekend! Everything you did sounds like perfection! Ethan and his little friend too... my gosh. First girlfriend right there! You might have to watch them together :) Also, such a brave mama for letting him have that ice cream in the car! I gave Mason a popsicle and let him eat it outside and he dripped everywhere and just let it melt down his arm. It was so cute to watch him enjoy it so much but I was so happy the mess was outside lol
