Ethan is 14 Months!

Technically, Ethan turned 14 months on the 26th, but we were on vacation...so here's the latest!

What's New:
We have a walker people!  That's right, just after his 13 month birthday {go figure!} on August 5th, he decided he could walk on his own and I would say in the last two weeks he's really taken off.  He walks like a little Frankenstein...it is so cute!  And now, when he falls, he'll get right back up and keep walking...where as in the beginning, he would revert to crawling instead.

Wears:
Mostly 12-18 month clothes, though we're starting to transition to 18-24 month jammies.  Funny enough, his 6-12 month jeans fit perfectly now.  We're also starting to have him wear shoes now that he's walking.  We have a couple varieties, like his Freshly Picked Moccs and Toms...any other favorites out there?

Eats:
More and more of our food and less and less of baby puree.  He LOVES his snack bowl and it's been such a lifesaver this past month with traveling and car rides.  He really likes fresh fruit, like blueberries and raspberries...oh and watermelon.  He also loves cheerios, pasta {sometimes}, Greek yogurt, and pizza!

Teeth:
Still just the four, though his top left second tooth just cut through so I imagine that both of the next two teeth will be here next.  He's definitely drooling like a monster, so it's no wonder!

Talks:
Lots of sounds and mimicking right now.  He just learned to copy a sneeze so he does that all the time.  And he clicks like we do for the cat.  He also does the cutest little humming noise...like uh huh!  But as for actual words, just the same: dog, dada, baba, mama...but dog is his favorite.  Oh and he can make a sound like a monkey!  Ooo oo ahh ahh!

Loves:
He LOVES Disney music.  We just discovered it on Pandora and he dances along.  His favorite is Hukuna Matata and pretty much any Jungle Book song.  He also still loves the cat.  Another thing he loves is when his dad chases him or tickles his face with his cheek.  He CRACKS up!

Hates:
Ethan HATES getting his fingernails clipped.  He was literally screaming bloody murder the other night when I was clipping them.  Poor little man!

Goes:
We've been on the go this past month, specifically to Chicago and Michigan to see friends and family.  We were really worried about the flight since he's constantly on the go now {read: busy!} and they were long {about 3.5 hours}.  Ethan actually did great, though he never napped which was exhausting for us.  As much as we appreciate not needing to pay for his ticket, I think once he hits two, having a car seat or some sort of harness for his own seat will be a lifesaver.  We took the train from Chicago to Michigan and he slept the entire time in his car seat.  It was definitely a blessing!  Ethan did great adjusting to the time change and adapting to the new surroundings.  We loved introducing him to new friends and having him spend time with his family.  More on our trip later this week!  ;)

And before I sign off, I have to give a huge shoutout to Laura for taking the pictures of Ethan in his red polo!  They all turned out so cute...I just had to include a couple!  ;)

  2. I love that red collered shirt... whoever said it's not fun to dress boys hasn't come across your blog! Is Ethan still drinking bottles? My little guy just turned one so I am getting ready to transition him to sippy cups only & would love to hear about what worked for you guys! PS SO random but did you ever wind up getting that ottoman from west elm? I am looking into the same one for our living room and would love to hear your review on it! Thanks!! :)

  3. I love reading your updates...our daughter is just a bit older than Ethan so it's fun to see them growing together:) Our daughter walked early...which was a little sad for me (growing up so fast) but our favorite shoes have been see kai run smaller, livie and luca, and crocs for summertime.

  6. My daughter also loves her snack cup and it's a lifesaver if we're out and about and she's getting cranky. Still can't get her to eat fruit though! She's such a picky eater. I love that photo of Ethan in his highchair smiling away!

  7. My son also HATES getting his nails clipped! I think hate is actually an understatement lol. He pulls his hands away and screams every time. Toes are even worse. Glad to know I'm not alone! I've found that turning on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse helps a liiiiiiiiittle to distract him...but for like 5 seconds lol.

  10. I miss him!!!! On the way home I told David that I think all my BC is expired and I should not take them anymore ;) Ethan is such an easy baby - getting David on board should be no problem! Thank you for having us and letting me practice with my fancy camera!!

  12. What a handsome boy!! That's great he's such a good traveler!! We've found Stride Rites to be pretty good for our little guy as he's taken off walking - easy to get on, he doesn't take them off and they seem to have great support/fit for his feet. You can pull the inside out to see where exactly their foot is hitting and make sure the size is ok. (Only downside they are pricey and aren't as cute/stylish as some shoes out there.. But they're good for their feet!!) :)

  13. Aww such a cutie! I bet you are never sitting down now that he is on the run :) A also hates getting her nails clipped, has for a while now, which is funny because she was so good about it when she was a baby. E is so well traveled :) And the pic of him in the highchair... omg dying!!
