Baby Ethan: Week 42

Weight: No clue, but should be in the 18+ arena.

Health: Baby boy had a little cold this past week...mostly a stuffy/runny nose.  The bummer part is that he couldn't breathe well so his sleeping schedule has been interrupted.

Sleep: At the moment, Ethan wakes up 1-2 times a night as he recovers from his cold.  But I'm confident it's a temporary situation {fingers crossed!!}.

Social: Ethan got to play with his buddy Cruz this past weekend.  His mama is our photographer and she was taking his nine month photos.  I cannot WAIT to see them and share them!

Diet: Drinking 4 solid bottles a day and nursing in the morning and night.  We're introducing more and more "people" food, like pasta, pita and hummus, and other baby snacks...like these sweet potato cinnamon snax.  They're SO good, I ended up snacking on them myself!

Clothes: Still wearing 6-12 or 9 month clothes for the most part.

Baby Gear Love: Ethan is really taking an interest in his walker.  He balances really well now and has taken a couple steps.  Pretty exciting!!

Crying: Oh man, this boy has a flair for the drama.  He hates and I mean HATES getting his diaper changed.  It's become the biggest challenge lately.  He rolls and sits up the second I put him down...or worse, he'll totally arch his back and start screaming.  It's awful.  But other than that, he's great.  ;)

Likes: Baby loves crawling and LOVES the cat...still.  Even though she finally scratched his poor little face.  But he still keeps going back for more...

Postpartum: I'm on day 14 of the shred.  I don't know that I'm losing a ton of weight, but I already see some toning going on, which feels good!

Milestones: We've got lots of fun ones this week!  Ethan's officially pulling up.  Yep, we found him in his crib fully standing and so proud of himself.  And as I said above, he's taking steps with his walker.  A couple other ones that I forgot to mention the last couple of weeks was that Ethan loves play peek-a-boo and will hold the blanket over his head and then pull it down...over and over again.  It's really cute. He's also giving high-fives and does little fish kisses.

This is what we result to for getting Ethan to actually lie down and hold still:

  1. Ah! My little guy is 47 weeks and they're sharing so many developments. I'm LOVING the high fives-my boy does them all through breakfast and its the best start to a day. We're also having the nappy change issue-he gets hysterical. He used to be distracted with a toy but not any more. Gah!

  2. oh girl, i feel you with the diaper change. Eliza HATES it!!! which leads to me hating it, which probably leads to poor baby sitting in a dirty diaper too long! i'm ready to potty train! how fun that's he's starting to walk. I feel like everything changes when they learn walk, in a good way. Go Ethan!

  7. Hi, I found you hopping around blogs... your boy is absolutely adorable! I love his little man clothes! Baby Gap is the best! I was looking at those same baby pants today, I wasn't sure how to make them work, but you seem to have a knack for styling them. Since you like Baby Gap, you'd probably be interested in their %35 off online sale today. I just bought a ton of stuff, should've bought those cute jeans!! Take care!

  8. Oh my gosh...we can relate to those crazy diaper changes these days!! Easton's new name is "Mr Archer Backer". When it comes down to putting him in the high chair, car seat, and God forbid a changing table he is a beast! I have found that giving him items like my phone (awful) or the wipes keeps him occupied for a quick minute! Let us know if you find any tricks!

  9. Congrats on keeping with the shred! Also, diaper changes, my god. I seriously change her midcrawl, standing up, on her belly, kicking my face, it's ridiculous.

  16. Ethan is beyond adorable! I love the behind the scenes of how you get a picture of him! My husband has to act like a crazy person to get Noah to laugh. This makes me want to turn the camera on him for a change!
