Copycat Firestone Burger

Hi Friends!

Many of you know that I was really a little peeved when hubby didn't bring back the salad dressing from our college town.  Well, luckily, he more than made up for it by bringing back some BBQ sauce from the infamous Firestone Grill!  Major kuddos to him!  :)  Firestone Grill is the cornerstone of San Luis Obispo...they have amazing tri-tip sandwiches, BBQ sauce and fries.  YUM!  I was happy to try and recreate my favorite menu item, the chicken sandwich, complete with BBQ sauce.  :)

Luckily, I had success!  It was super delicious!  And though I can't share the sauce recipe, I thought I would let you know how I constructed this little piece of heaven.

Recipe
  • Wheat Buns
  • Chicken Breast, seasoned with garlic salt and fresh ground pepper
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato, sliced
  • Avocado
  • Monterey Jack Cheese, sliced
  • Sliced Onion {you know I skipped this step}
  • BBQ sauce {preferably a sweeter sauce that you loooove!}

We BBQ'd the chicken and melted the cheese on top.  Construct the burger according to your liking and enjoy!  Serve with fries or a salad!
