Mama + Mini Me Style

Since my Easter post, I've gotten a couple requests to post on mama and mini me style...boys edition!   I already love the ideas I get from Jessica and Erinn and how they match to their sweet daughters, so I thought I'd take a crack at matching my outfits to how I would dress Ethan.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...baby boy clothes have come a long way!  And now that Ethan is bigger, I love dressing him in little man outfits.  I don't think there is anything cuter!  I can't wait for this summer, when he can sport shorts and little muscle tees...seriously, I die over the cuteness.

Do you ever match your little one's style?

Baby Ethan: Week 40

Weight: As of Ethan's 9 month appointment this past Monday, 17 lbs 13 oz and 28.5 inches long. Lean and mean!

Health: Pretty healthy...can't complain!

Sleep: Still sleeping pretty well through the night. There's the occasional wake up call around 2am but he goes right back down after a quick nursing sesh.

Social: We had a ton of fun celebrating Easter this past weekend! Ethan got to spend lots of time with his paternal grandparents.

Diet: I'm pretty much only nursing at night and in the morning and have dropped pumping to 1-2 times a day at work. I barely eek anything out during my pumping sessions, but I figure something is better than nothing! Baby boy is also eating 3 solid meals per day pretty consistently. We still feed him fruit/veggies purees but also have been adding in more solids, like steamed carrots, blueberries and some carbs.

Clothes: 9 month and 6-12 month...oh he has officially graduated to 3 diapers.

Baby Gear Love: Loving his activity center and of course his baths! Oh and he got this awesome tractor from G&G Schue which he loves!

Crying: Only when he's tired {for the most part!}. He is getting a little whiny when he doesn't get his way or if he's set down and wants to be held. But of course, who can refuse the cuddles?

Likes: He loves his animals...the cat and dog that is. He'll do whatever we can to be near them.

Postpartum: They say it takes 9 months to put on the weight and 9 months to take it off. So basically, I no longer have an excuse for these 8-10 pounds. It's time to take some action and I have officially started the 30 day shred ({I'm on day 5} and am really trying to modify my diet. Wish me luck!

Milestones: Exciting news this past week...we have a crawler! Yes, this past Easter weekend, baby boy finally connected the dots and started crawling! He's not a pro yet, but he's getting around. It's pretty amazing! And we celebrated Easter!

Fresh Dish: Brining Families Back to the Dinner Table

Have you ever gotten off work, gone to the grocery store, dealt with the kiddos, worked out...only just to realize that it's 8pm and dinner hasn't been started?  This is our typical night...I swear, we don't eat dinner until 9 or 9:30!  It's horrible. Half the battle is trying to figure out what the heck to cook that night!  Even if you just factor in going to the store, prepping, cooking and eating dinner...that all takes about 2 hours post work.  I sometimes wish we had a personal cook.

Enter Fresh Dish.

It's a gourmet meal kit service that delivers ready-to-cook meals to families that just don't have time to deal with the shopping and prep time it takes to get a home cooked dinner on the table during the week.

I admit, I was skeptical at first.  I envisioned a frozen dinner that you just heated up {and inevitably would not taste much better than something you buy in the frozen isle section at the grocery store} but boy was I wrong!

I was pleasantly surprised to see a well packaged box {surprising for free shipping when you order more than one kit} and inside the meal kit was fresh produce and meat.  Everything was already prepped and ready to go...and the beauty of this service, is you still cook.  But don't worry, it's all pretty simple to put together, and the kits come with great directions.  Ryan and I had dinner ready to go by 7pm on the nights that we made the "Fresh Dish" dinners, which is a world record in our house!

So how did they taste?  Amazing!  I would have never guessed that we didn't go grocery shopping just an hour before.  The meat was super fresh and the produce was flavorful and tasty.

And I bet you're waiting for the price bomb to drop.  But you'll be surprised to know that it's as little as $8/person for a family size kit or $12/person for a 2 person kit.  When you factor in the time you save from shopping and prepping, not to mention the quality of the food, I think it's more than worth it.  And I love the flexibility.  You can check out the menu {it changes weekly!} and decide what to order for the week.

I think we definitely want to try this service a couple nights a week.  I know we were so relieved that we didn't have to worry about dinner on the nights we had the kits to cook.

If you're interested in trying this service, Fresh Dish is offering Schue Love readers "a buy one family size meal, get one free"!  Enter SCHUEXFRESH at checkout.  This week, they're featuring a flank steak salad with basil pesto & quinoa that is calling my name!  ;)

Hope you enjoy!  Bon Appetit!

Ethan's First Easter

Happy 1st Day of April!  Did you all have a great Easter?  We sure did!  I can't believe it's over already!  I've decided holidays are infinitely more fun with kids.  Next year Ethan will be running around like a wild man, hunting for Easter eggs and being a big ham!  Cannot wait!

While we didn't get to meet the Easter Bunny this year, Wilson was happy to step in.  ;)

Sunday morning, we got up and ready for church.  I love my little man all dressed up...such a little stud muffin!

After church, we headed to Edgewood for brunch.  I love this spot...it's where we got married!

They always have the best brunch!

Our little family of three.

And yes, we had matching shirts on!  ;)

I picked up some gorgeous yellow tulips!  They are so cheerful for spring!

Our kitchen literally looked like it exploded Easter!

Oh and I made these yummy lemon cupcakes with fresh strawberry buttercream frosting!

We went over to Ryan's parents house for dinner and Ryan's mom had the cutest spring table setting.

Ethan got majorly spoiled!

He especially loves his new truck...all boy I tell you!

So that was our Easter!  Like I said above, I seriously cannot wait for next year already!!  What did you do?  If you posted a recap, let me know in the comments below!
