Outfit Planning for Disneyland

We're planning to go to Disneyland soon for the boys very FIRST trip! I'm both excited and terrified at the prospect! ;)

First, we're driving down, which is about an 8+ hour drive! I grew up 20 minutes from Disney, so making a trip was never a big deal. Luckily, we still have family and friends that live nearby, so that's one less thing to worry about! We're planning on just going for one day...when the boys get older, we can see about making a two-day trip and including California Adventureland.

Second, it's supposed to be almost 90 degrees, which sounds like a nice reprieve from our cold Tahoe weather, but yikes! 90 is hot! So we'll be packing lots of sunscreen, maybe this brand. Also bringing lots of water {we have the the Klean Kanteens for the boys!} and the BOB stroller so Wyatt has some shade {and can hopefully nap!}.

Third, I just hope the boys enjoy it...I am sure it will be overwhelming but hoping the park will be more on the quiet side {if that's even a thing anymore} and that we get to hit up all the fun rides. Do you think they're too young for Pirates of the Caribbean?! ;)

I am not sure what I'll wear, but I just ordered these shorts and have the sneakers above, so we'll see what ends up working out. I also adore this shirt, so cute for a vacation!

So have you been to Disneyland yet with the kids? Any tips? I'd love to hear!

  1. We're planning our 5th trip with the girls in a couple of weeks. We have to fly since we're in WA. We usually go full Disney for at least 3-4 days but this trip is only going to be 2 days. Ellie will be almost 4 and goes on all the rides except for roller coasters because she's too short. She loves Pirates and all the other rides. Your boys will be so mesmerized by the whole experience that as long as you have a fun and positive attitude they should have a great time!! I have lots of posts about our 4 previous trips on my blog if you want to check them out. http://atparsons.blogspot.com/search/label/Disney

  2. Have so much fun!!! 90 is so hot for disney...I was there when it was like 85 and about died ;) Just take breaks in the shade and do rides that are inside for a cooler temp! Those frozen lemonade cups saved us too! ha :) I think they'd be okay on Pirates as long as they don't get scared too easily. I remember my parents telling me it wasn't real when I was little and it was just acting, and then I was fine! I love your outfit choice! I brought an extra tank when we went on the hot day and I was thankful, because I did end up changing 1/2 way through the day ;)

  5. We're going for our second time next week as a family. My daughter is still 2 so we'll get her in free one last time this year before she's 3 in June. In February we went for 4 days with park hoppers it was so much fun I recommend Magic Kingdom mamas on Instagram they have a blog now too for all your tips and tricks especially if you're going to do a one day trip they have the best route through the park for all ages rides. Next week we'll be there for 1 day for a surprise and we mad a list of our top 5 must ride. Have lots of fun and take lots of pictures your boys will remember it just keep talking to them about it and showing them pics works for us lol

  6. Ewww to the 90 degree temps! We're a good 5 hours away and have only taken Kinsey once when she was 2.5 lol. But definitely yes to the stroller (we hung out in the mini theater to escape the heat during nap time) and riding Pirates!!

  7. I am definitely not a Disney expert by any means, but we took our 4.5 and 2 year old last winter for the day. I thought a day was perfect... the kids were too little to stress out over specific rides, if something had a big line we just skipped it. It ended up being a LONG day, but was fun for all of us:)

  8. I love this outfit. The shirt goes perfectly with the shorts. I've been wanting the shoes for awhile. They're so cute.
