27 Weeks

How far along? 27 Weeks...the end of the second trimester!  Woo hoo!
Baby Size: He's the size of a cauliflower...roughly 2 whole pounds!
Total weight gain: About 15 pounds
Maternity clothes? Definitely maternity leggings and pants.  I'm still wearing pre-maternity tops {like the one above} and lots of dresses/tunics too.
Stretch marks? No thank goodness!
Sleep: Sleeping pretty well, as long as I have my barrage of pillows!
Best moment this week: Hands down, my baby shower with my friends and family from home.  It was SO good to see everyone and celebrate Baby Schue.  Details to come this week!  :)
Miss Anything? Being in Newport made me miss the warmer weather...I had fun sporting maxi dresses and tank tops!
Movement: Yes he's moving tons, but for some reason when I get someone to try and feel him, he'll stop!  Such a stinker!
Food cravings: Got to feast on fro yo, macaroons, cupcakes and more sweets this weekend.  That definitely satisfied my cravings!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really!
Gender: BOY!
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Not too much to report...just the regular back pains here and there, nothing too bad!
Belly Button in or out? Still hanging in there!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Mood: Elated at the moment...got showered with love and Baby Schue was spoiled rotten!  ;)
Looking forward to: On our way back from our trip, we got to do some major nursery shopping in Sacramento...IKEA, West Elm, Anthropologie and more!  The rocker and bedding should be arriving this week too, so I aim to make tons of progress this week!  Super excited about that.  On the other hand...I'm not so excited for my glucose test this week...but I hear it's really not that bad.

The Ultimate Wedding Week: The Ceremony

Hi Friends!  It's my turn to host the party today...hope you'll all join me today as we discuss all things wedding ceremony!

We got married at the gorgeous Edgewood Golf Course on Lake Tahoe.  We could not have asked for a more beautiful day.  The sun was shining and there was a light breeze...just a perfect summer afternoon.

I absolutely love how beautiful the lake is...there are so many colors!

We had cold lemonade and water for our guests on their way outside...keep them cool and refreshed!

Hubby with his groomsmen...they were watching our little flower girl make her way down the aisle.

Isn't she precious?

Waiting for me to come down the aisle...looks pretty calm and collected don't you think?

 Me and Dad.

 Everyone lined up...ready to go!

One of the most special aspects of our wedding was that my childhood minister flew up to officiate the wedding.  It was his last wedding he presided over before he retired.  His message was so sentimental and special to us and our family...I truly felt blessed to have him there.

Love this shot of my bridesmaids and flower girl.

My dress was made my ModelNovias...I bought it at The White Dress in Corona del Mar, CA.

Saying our vows...I was SO emotional...I had no idea how powerful it would be.

Exchanging rings...

 The kiss!

 We did it!  :)

 He makes me so happy!

Happily ever after!

You can see more photos of us after the ceremony here.

It was a great ceremony...I think everyone walked away feeling the love and emotion between us.  What was even better was having all of our friends and family there to support us and share in on our vows.  So so neat.

Now it's your turn...link up your past, present or future {inspiration!} wedding ceremony photos below!

The Ultimate Wedding Week: Before the Ceremony

Now we're getting to the good part...the actual wedding!  :)  Today, it's all about "before the ceremony" on...

We held tradition on our wedding day and did not see each other before the ceremony.  I loved the sentiment of seeing Ryan for the first time as I walked down the aisle and for him to see me in my dress at that same moment.  And it turned out to be very emotional for me {thank goodness for water-proof mascara!} as I took my dad's arm and made my way through our friends and family to my husband.

But let's rewind a bit...the day of our wedding was spent prepping and spending time with my bridesmaids.

We all got our hair and makeup done at Ryan's aunt's salon and then headed back to the house to get ready.  A little toast was in order!

I love this picture of all my girls helping me get ready!

I loved spending this time with the girls...everyone got along so well and it was definitely a relaxing day, despite what was ahead.  Definitely a success!

I was so lucky to have all of my best friends there by my side.  You can see Heavenly Mountain in the background...it definitely was a heavenly day!  ;)

 My darling flower girl...Ryan's cousin!

 All the handsome fellows!

I was really pleased with how the navy blue and black suits worked together.  Everyone looked so polished and classic.

Once our separate group photos were taken...it was time for the ceremony!  I'll be covering all the details on Monday!

Now, it's your turn to share your "before the ceremony" moments...whether it's past, present or future inspiration!  Head on over to Along the Way with V & J and join the party!

And here's what you can expect next week!

Have a great weekend!!

Travel Schue::Dallas

Travel Schue is back and ready to take on a new city...this time we're traveling to Dallas baby!

I've got quite a treat for you all today...the uber talented and gorgeous Cassie from Hi Sugarplum is here and will be your official tour guide through this awesome city.  Ready to go big or go home?  Take it away Cassie!

Hey ya'll! I'm Cassie from Hi Sugarplum!, and I'm thrilled to be sharing a little bit about Dallas on Schue Love today.

Mr. Sugarplum and I love to travel...in fact, it's the main reason for our DIY mentality in making over our 1980s house...to save the money for trips! (You can read about some of our adventures here.)

We live in the suburbs, but Big D is right in our backyard. With over a million people, and as a major cosmopolitan metroplex, it's likely every artist, performer, show and movie will make it's way here. The number of venues and restaurants practically out-number the population, so there is no way I could tell you all the great things about Dallas. I'll just touch on a few of our favorite spots.

The Dallas Arts District is the largest arts district in the nation, spanning 68 acres and 19 contiguous blocks. It's fun to get dressed up for the Nutcracker ballet at the Winspear Opera house, or take advantage of Free Saturdays at many of the museums. We usually make a day of it by taking the DART train in to the city.

Dallas has many lakes, parks and trails, but no where is as naturally beautiful as the Arboretum & Botanical Garden. It was voted one of the top places in the world to see Spring flowers, and each year, more than 500,000 blooms are on display. And what kid (of every age!) doesn't love to be up close with sharks? The Aquarium is a great stop, and you can even eat lunch among the Mayan exhibit.

You may think you've attended a state fair, but nothing compares to the month-long extravaganza that is the State Fair of Texas. We go every September and stuff our faces with fried oreos, fried twinkies and fried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! Don't knock 'em til you've tried them! And I think standing in the same spot they believe Lee Harvey Oswald stood when he shot President Kennedy as he drove up the street is fascinating. The museum re-enacts that fateful day, and you certainly leave with lots of suspicions.

Shopping is a way of life in Dallas, afterall, it is the birthplace of Neiman Marcus. I think almost every designer and chain store has a location here, as well as countless boutiques and specialty shops. If you're looking for everything in one spot, Northpark and Galleria malls will keep you busy for days!

We prefer spots with more character and personality, so Bishop Arts District is one of our favorite neighborhoods. It's lined with creative shops and delicious locally-owned restaurants.

Which leads us to food! Dallas is home to many celebrity chefs, including Tom Colicchio, Stephen Pyles, Tre Wilcox....but lets face it, we're going to eat Mexican food every chance we get! The list of good ones is a mile long, but Mi Cocina is at the top of my list. Just one of their signature Mambo Taxis, and they'll be calling you a cab ride home!

It's true, everything really is bigger in Texas, and there is no shortage of things to see, do, eat and drink! Thanks Natasha for allowing me to show off Big D!

I have to say, I've only been to Texas once {Austin to be specific} and I'm already itching to go back...and you better bet it will be Dallas next time.  Hope Cassie is ready for someone to crash on her couch!  ;)

Thanks again to Cassie for showing us that bigger is really better in Texas!

In case you've missed the last cities we've visited:

Columbus
Charleston
Chicago
New York

Until next time...
